Went there for two coffees which were okay (not exceptional). Aghast when the bill came to â¬9.00 or â¬4.50 per coffee. In Jard sur Mer just down the road a very good coffee costs between â¬1.90 and â¬2.80 at the top end. Ridiculous price so strongly do not recommended. Were not very helpful when I enquired about the price - attitude was poor.

We eat here several times during our stay in the area. Our trip was out of season and a lot of places weren't open. Food was pretty good, although I have had much better quality mussels than those served. Very helpful (English speaking) staff. Will use again if in the area.

French traditionnal restaurant the "chef" is the "Boss" Fine and fresh products with a very large choice of French gastronomy tradition. From 12⬠to 26⬠complete menu. Kids menu 9â¬
I have enjoyed dining in the Vendee for over twenty years and was expecting good things from this reasonably well reviewed restaurant. However the experience itself was to say the least, disappointing, at worse, appalling. I cannot comment on the food or the drink or the ambience as my wife and I walked out after 60 minutes after not even being offered a drink while deciding what to eat. Whilst we were waiting a rather vacant looking waitress handed out menus/food/drink to two adjacent tables and whilst doing so completely ignored our table. As I said I have dined in many restuarants in the area and have no issue when there is a sizeable pause between courses, but to not even be served or acknowledged after an hour is completely unacceptable. There are many restaurants in the area, I suggest you try them all before coming here.

Stayed at nearby campsite and had a fantastic meal here. We were 4 adults and 4 kids 11, 12, 14 and 14. Through our pigeon French and the owners pigeon English we ordered 3 courses and drinks. I can definitely recommend the steaks and seafood with the assiette of deserts the perfect ending to a delicious meal with very friendly staff. 3 bottles of wine kids drinks and 3 courses came to about 240 euros booked again for Saturday!

Nicely cooked food simply presented in a pleasant sea-side family setting. There are a variety of set lunches at different prices - we had the 26 euro menu which was reasonable value but not exceptional. Nothing fancy - we had starters of crab (fresh half crab) and rabbit terrine, then raie served with salicorne and (borrowing from the 21 euro menu) dos de cabillaud served with a lemon and leek sauce. Puddings were coffee ice cream with liqueur and coffee creme brulee, both delicious and again simply presented. A coupe de champagne for 4.50 was excellent value and wine by the glass was pleasant. Fantastic location by the beach, understandably popular and crammed with families. Decor and layout of restaurant was seaside-y and slightly old-fashioned but service was friendly and family-orientated.

Le Transat is a Brasserie in the Seafront of Jard sur Mer well located just in front of the windmill. We are open from 9h00 am to 10h00 pm before the season and 9h00 am to 2h00 am During the summer. We are closed on Wednesday, open 7/7 during July and Aug
We were spending a weeks holiday in Jard Sur Met at the beginning of June and we wandered down to the sea front late afternoon, and having done our homework on Jardâs Restaurants, we booked a table for that evening.Wow! All four of us chose the 19 Euros set meal with 3 courses all agreed the food was well cooked and delicious.I would definitely recommend the fish and chips, and our friends, plus my husband would recommend the Confit Canard. The restaurant was extremely busy and pre booking a table had been the right thing to do.We visited later in the week and were seated outside but under cover and was again were delighted with our meals.

Four for dinner, two residents of France and two visitors. No starters, straight into the main course. Grilled hake for two cooked to perfection; duck breast a point and a choucroute royale- a stunning mix of seafood instead of pork in a perfectly balanced sauce, with monkfish, prawns, scallops, scampi, mussels and white fish.Profiteroles offered with a choice of ice cream filling; and sticky dark chocolate cake , with a bottle of organic Rhone..... We sat outside in the warmth of the evening and agreed, this THE place to eat in Jard sur Mer....!

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived & the service was friendly & efficient. The staff speak good English to compensate for my pitiful french. They brought out a sparkler with dessert & sang happy birthday to one of our group. Just lovely people. The food is exceptional. The set meal at the end of the menu, although not cheap, was worth every euro. The monkfish in chorizo sauce WOW. Go there, you won't regret it

Located in Jard sur mer, the KOU-DE-TA will seduce you with its sober and delicate ambience, its bar and its cuisine in finesse. Specializing in fresh products including frogs' legs and lobster, come and awaken your taste buds. With friends, family or bus
Great service, very interesting dishes and a great atmosphere. Unfortunately we found this gem on our last day. We would have eaten here frequently! It is not on the sea front, but do not let that put you off. A really nice place for a casual evening meal with great food. Highly recommended.

This is a family run restaurant which serves local produce and does fabulous pizzas. It is always busy, even out of season, so I would recommend that you book a table. We've been here for lunch and dinner and would highly recommend it. Our last server was Antoine who looked after us very well, with typical french humour thrown in to keep us laughing throughout. I'm vegetarian and the team are more than happy to adapt dishes to give me more choice. They were equally helpful with a guest of ours who has a gluten allergy. The restaurant will also accept your (well behaved) dog on the terrace (covered in cooler weather).
