There was not much open on a chilly night well into November. We enjoyed two fine beers, but they were expensively priced. Our server was very busy, but he worked hard to please all. The burgers we ordered came quite quickly but were noting more than burgers with a variety of trimmings. They were overpriced, however. What really put us off, however, were the tables of pretentious and loud people. If this is called "atmosphere" I'd rather dine in a vacuum. It may appeal to some, but not to us.

Had dinner here the other evening. We were welcomed by very friendly staff. Great menu plenty of options available, pasta dishes meat and pizza's. Very nice wine list as well, very reasonably priced. The service was very professional and very friendly. Plenty of seating, the restaurant is a couple of minutes walk from the centre. Worth a visit.

We ate here because of the good reviews and were very disappointed. Service was non existent we had to wave our arms around to attract attention then they tootled across. Items came altogether! Not impressed at all. Avoid supreme poulet and salmon roti flour both sadly lacking in taste and presentation. Toilets on ground floor and were decorated well but not clean. Cigarette butts and litter outside should have been a warning to us. They don't carem

We happened upon this restaurant almost by accident, as we had just arrived in the town and needed somewhere to eat. The decor is quirky and despite this being a big restaurant, it is divided into sections, thus retaining quite an intimate feel. There is a striking central staircase and a gallery above - think 19th century department store. The food on both occasions we visited was outstanding; the menu is imaginative and rose well above the predictable staples found elsewhere. My wife and I love good steaks, and cooked to perfection they were; on the first occasion I had a memorable lamb dish with haricots blancs. The wine was good quality, but not excessively priced. After the first visit, we immediately booked to go back, and on the second occasion the weather was kind enough for us to sit outside for our "apéritif" in the eclectic outside space - upturned umbrellas in bright colours suspended from the grid ceiling! The staff were charming and attentive without being intrusive. On the second visit, my birthday was imminent, and I was delighted when my café gourmand came with the words "Happy Birthday, Steve" written on the slate (obviously some subterfuge here by my dining companions...) A great experience, and we should take no persuading at all to return here in the future. Our thanks to all concerned.

We walked around town looking for a lunch spot after visiting the market. We asked for a table and found we had been given the last one as three other groups were turned away after us.We liked wine was available by the glass, carafe and bottle all at reasonable prices for good wines. The bread was excellent, the starters good and the mains very good.Service was friendly and reasonably attentive. We liked the different salad garnish with both starters and mains. Both duck and steak served suitably pink.A good lunch!

Nice restaurant with friendly staff. Food is good and different form what we normally have. Probably not a truly French experience but liked by our party which conatined granparents, parents and teenagers.A fair bit away from the main square. (20 minute walk)Thank you ! We are glad that you enjoyed our restaurant and that our choice of menu was unanimous in your group. We hope to see you again very soon during a stay in St Quentin

We discovered this restaurant by accident a few years ago. It was so great that we went back to Saint Quentin just to visit it again. Really interesting choice of fantastic food, wonderful service, and the staff were great with our kids (2 and 6). One of the best meals we had during our two weeks in France.

Visited early evening mid week in March. We were lucky as we not made a reservation, 30 minutes later they were full. I guess about 30 covers. Simple but imaginative 2 or 3 course set menu, 4 choices on each. think it was 28 euro for 3 courses, Good short wine list and we picked a Pinot Noir Rose at less than 20 euros and it was excellent. The chef brought the dishes to the table and chatted briefly in English, he wanted to know that we were pleased, we were very pleased. We chose a salad with hot bits of tender lamb sweetbreads? to start (salad de ris d'agneau) with what we think were miniature peppers, that exploded with sweetness. My confit of duck was just as it should be, my wife's fish superb great sauce, meringue glace to finish, This is what we visit France for, a family well run great value restaurant with a personal touch.

We happened upon this restaurant last night and I'm glad we went in.Simple menu. All in French but very friendly and welcoming host explained anything you were unsure of.Had a beautiful smoked salmon, haddock and orange tartare to start which was served under a glass bell cover filled with smoke. Added a bit of flair.Bavette and sautéed potatoes for main. Quality beef and cooked rare as requested. My brother had the octopus and rice, which when served the octopus was like butter it was so tender but because he's a slow eater, by the end had toughened up somewhat. He still very much enjoyed it.Good house white too. Recommended if you are in the area.
