Bagels, fresh salads and frozen yogurt
Good to see something different from the typical high street French cafe/bistro/brasserie. Lots of fillings which you can have sandwiched in one of three types of bagel bread (nature/sesame/pavot). Unfortunately I made the wrong choice as the pavot-style bagel was too dry and crusty. Best to stick with the normal bagel style (nature), I suspect.

Amazing food! breaks my heart when people tell me they hated it. Best food I have ever had! You should go there if you want quality pizza!

Busy brasserie which is clearly liked and good for families. My wife's Caesar salad was unlike any Caesar we've seen, and topped with a fried egg. It was quite tasty nonetheless but definitely not a Caesar salad! Mine was a mixture of fish - adequate but overcooked and missing the promised salmon. We cancelled the wine in the end as after three requests it still hadn't arrived and we'd finished our meal. A bit slapdash - bread and water dropped on floor by waitress - but quite jolly. No one seemed very concerned about getting it right - and even paying was hard as the barman was more interested in chatting than serving.

I have nothing but praise for this lovely quayside restaurant which I have visited with my husband on many occasions. Staff are always friendly, attentive and efficient. All the meals we have enjoyed have been excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend it. Whether indoors or on the exterior patio, it is a delightful location to dine.

We ate there on two occasions during our holiday. Food was fairly average, as was the service, but nothing to stop me going back again. Really enjoyed the fish stew, once I'd discarded the shellfish ( a personal dislike) but disappointed in the cafe gourmand once it had arrived. Prices not bad, and well supported both nights we were there. Although we didn't have one, the pizzas seemed very popular. Will probably return next year.

Wandering through St Pierre, we saw this restaurant's beautiful terrace. Asked for a table for 2, but were told "uniquement a l'interieure" although I did notice that half of the large terrace was roped off. A little disappointing, but it was 1:10pm and I'm sure there's some explanation. Went inside to sit at a novel table, with glass top and arty display below the glass. Long wait before ordering. Staff were very friendly and smiley, but extremely busy, as the restaurant was full. Did they need one or two more staff? . We chose Formule du jour (entrée & plat) @ 15euros. Rillettes de Sardines was divine. Assiette de Charcuterie fabulous, generous and lovely dressing on the side salad. Mains were Hake with rice/ratatouille and an interesting vingery sauce, perhaps shallots, but just a bit sharp. 2nd main was Bavette / frites with a very good Madeira sauce. Atmosphere typically French, with small quiet dog accompanying people on next table. Pleased to see bread topped up without the need to ask and also water. All in all a pleasant lunch experience. Not to self: Get thereearlier for a table on the beautiful shaded terrace.

Thank you trip advisor for pointing to this great little restaurant serving up delicious treats using local produce. We stopped here before exploring the island and used it as a coffee break (with a couple of lovely French tarts : butter salted caramel and strawberry). The owner could see us working out the route and offered us help between cooking oysters on a giant smoker in the garden. He spent over 15 minutes telling us about the island, the ecosystems, the places that tourists never venture but are the gems of the island that only the locals know. He told us how to get the best view of Fort Boyard (from a beach that was so secluded it was empty). While this was happening, planks of meats and fish were going back and forth from the smoker and it looked amazing! We decided we must return later on in the stay to try it. For such a busy little place we were so grateful to Simon for helping us make the most of our stay. A real example of French hospitality and from what we could see delicious food!!

lovely terrace with wooden tables - fresh and home made food - fishes from LA COTINIERE - grill - pizza - backed potatoes - and a large choice of "suggestion du moment - changing every week
Great staff and great food. This is a slick and well run restaurant. We had smoked salmon starters and a pizza. Very happy with our choice. These guys looked like they were enjoying themselves and it showed. We visited out of season but reckon it could get a bit busy in peak periods.

This restaurant is located in a 'suck'-like building just off the main road - there is a parking lot. The interior is "historic-fisherman" with a real fire at it's centre. There is a set-menu with 4-6 choices per plate covering both seafood, fish and meat all of which are simply cooked - relying on the excellent produce which on the occasion we visited was very justified.

Stopped there on a whim on our way to somewhere else! We were very pleased with the â¬13.90 set menu which was excellent value. The roast mackerel was very tasty and included in the price was a small carafe of wine! Definitively worth stopping!
