Things to do in Saint-Hubert
We stayed over one night and ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The menu was limited, for dinner there were two choices each for appetisers, main courses, and dessert, but the choices I ordered were all very good. At breakfast, it was a selection of pastries and bread rolls with deli meat, cheese and yogurt. They offered us additional orange juice when we explained that we don't drink coffee. Again, breakfast tasted very good.

I guess we just expected more due to the overall very positive reviews. The fish, meat, and accompanying sauces were ok at best. On the positive side, our kids' chicken (which rather seemed to be a bony rooster though), fries, and apple compote were fresh -- quite exceptiional for a kids' menu these days.

Open Every Days.
We ate here on a Saturday evening; the service was very efficient and super friendly. The pizzas were very good, nice thin dough, and the prices very reasonable. The ice cream was perhaps not the best I've ever eaten, but it was acceptable. The decor is modern, the tables not too close together, and our overall impression was very favourable.

We opted to drive 150 KMs to go to this restaurant in the middle of no where with a bongo that we recieved. When we arrived we were told that the bongo only entitled us to one dish and that was pork cheaks. We asked if we could have something else by paying a supplment but were told no. That means if we we were allergic or did did not eat meat that you areout of luck which was already a bad start. We took a few starters which were ok but nothing special with my wifes duck liver on some potatoes being sent back as it was not warm. A couple of beers to start served without any olives or peanuts was also a surprise. The main of pork cheaks were also on the cold side but we eat them anyway. Then there was the wine. We asked to see the wine menu and the waiter said that we had to go in the cellar and choose our selves. At no time did he say that that on top of the prices mentioned on the bottle you had to pay 15 € corkage. Its only when we got the bill did we notice this and it was a suprise. We would have never taken a bottle of average bordeaux for 34 €.. We also ordered a bowl of fries which was on the small side and which cost 8 €.. In all it was a very average experience and we would not go back. There were also children running and crawling around the floor whilst we eat so that was not ideal either for a romantic day out.. in all for a total of around 110 € there are a lot better places to go.Bonjour Monsieur BrownTout d’abord, nous tenons d’ores et déjà à vous remercier pour votre avis et l’attention toute particulière que vous nous avez accordée.

Great place to be : Loads of athmosphere ,friendly reception : Xavier takes care of you - truly , he cares and makes sure that you are served efficiently but with a lovely smile and lots of good humour! The locals come in and have a beer and a chat with Yves, who towers over the bar.On the menu: a nice selection of first courses with lots of local produce and for the maincourse mainly beef . We tasted the T-bone steak for 2 :succulent ! what we did not eat went home with us packed in a neat container. We will certainly return !

We had the set menu Hubert and the recommended selection of wines. Everything was absolutely superb and while expensive was still very good value. We will certainly return if in the area.

We only went here for a drink, we were visiting the open air museum, which made us thirsty. This is the perfect place to enjoy a drink while visiting the museum. The building is fantastic, it puts you in an atmosphere of times long gone... As said, we only went for a drink so I can't say a thing about how good the kitchen is, but the choice of local beers is great and prices are good value for money, service was quick and friendly and I wished we had the time to go for dinner here, loved to have stayed longer in that ambiance!

On a Tuesday evening there were not many places open in Saint Hubert so we chose the Basilic by default. But we need not have worried as the food was excellent-my husband had a 'sampler' main course which was a selection of delights, both hot and cold and I had a divine imaginative salad, both served on slate 'plates'. The bistro filled up during the evening and there was a very nice atmosphere looking onto the abbaye square. Unfortunately, the service did not match up to the food. There was only one table in the bistro before us but the waitress took a long time to come with menus, was grumpy and humourless. We speak adequate French so language was not the problem. The main niggle was at the end-the beers we had had were several euros more expensive than stated on the beer list so we queried this. Apparently, they only had bigger bottles and had not printed new menus. We pointed that it would be very easy to change the pricing as other restaurants do but that was received with a shrug of the shoulders. My other grump about Belgian restaurants (including this one) is their refusal to provide tap water in a carafe. You have to pay for bottled water which I object to. Our guest house owner explained that this is normal but I don't understand why.

Estaminet-Taverne Brasserie-Restaurant Ambiance relax-Music Forest decoration (For the respect for the customers: quiet children please)
It's a little cosy restaurant serving good food. We ate hamburgers, which were good. I liked the option that you could make your own hamburger by choosing everything from the bun to the sauce. The waiter was very friendly and strawberry mojito excellent :)
