This is a very unusual place, located in the middle of an industrial estate and housed in what looks like an industrial unit, but what it lacks in location it more than makes up for in the quality of the food and the service. I had the 'assiette de boucher' which comprised a large entrecote and a large brochette of rump streak served with home made fries and a sauce of your choice. As the main dish was so large we didn't have room for dessert, but what we saw being served looked very tempting. Our main course cost â¬16.50 but most people seemed to be eating off the â¬14.50 three course menu, which had plenty of choice and included a starter buffet. Towards the end of the lunch period the chef (and I believe the owner) came and spoke to all the diners - a nice touch, he also served some of the late-comers. The restaurant is only open for lunch. So if you're looking for place for a romantic lunch in beautiful surrounding don't come here, but if your hungry and appreciate good food well served at very reasonable prices, La Gargote will take some beating

Nice restaurant (or take it away) with a supermarket concept and fresh homemade food. Choose your starter, main and dessert from the shelve. Put them in your basket. Go to the cashier for water and wine and pay your bill. After you finished your starter, your main course is served hot and steaming. And you can finish it off with a coffee. A servant will help you understand the system from start to end. The wine is good, but not cheap. Bon appétit!

This restaurant is not in the main hub of town but right opposite the cathedral. We were warmly greeted and chose the set menu (available in the evening). Home made bread and a fish paste were brought to the table as a free mini starter. The starters were fab as were the mains, tasty and presented to a high standard. I didn't have a dessert but those who did said it was delicious. Not only is the service and food great here but also the value for money, we had 2 aperitifs, 2 glasses of wine, large bottle of water, 1x2 course meal and 2x3 course meals plus coffees with homemade biscuits. Total of 74 euros. Would definitely eat here again!

Thought we would try this restaurant out and booked a table for 7.30pm. Only a family of four there when we arrived, but it soon filled up. Waited a while then got a drinks menu, waited for order to be taken waited for the drinks then waited and waited for our food order to be taken. One other couple left without being served and after 40minutes we too left. Would not recommend unless you have plenty of time to spare!!!Hello,We understand your point there. No excuse but one simple explanation for that "black day": we had a problem with our waitress. This resulted in a full reorganization and you seem to have suffered from that. What to tell more ?Please accept our apologies.

Great location, overlooking the sea, great beach, service excellent, food excellent, what more do you want, English spoken, if you need it, try the Tapas starter, just enough if you want a quick meal, lobster is also on the menu, expensive, yes, but it will be fresh (its in a tank, just pick the one you want!!) in general, a very good restaurant with great service.

This Italian restaurant serves pizzas, pasta but also other Italian dishes. Tried a pizza which I thought was good but not exceptional, I think there is more value in some of the other dishes and the pasta. There is a nice outdoor seating area at the back of the restaurant which is non smoking (unusual in France). So all in all, a good place to go.

Very sad, we have eaten here twice before each time it was brilliant, both my wife and I were looking forward to our third visit, just two months after our last. What a let down! My starter was good however my wife's fish soup was stone cold not even warm, that went back to be reheated which took about two minutes so microwaved! My main course was supposed to be a local take on Bouillabaisse, it was pieces of various types of fish in the same fish soup as my wife's now way was the fish cooked in the broth which it should be and tasted of nothing. My wife's main of Tuna was tough. Desserts were very good as they always have been. Everything else rubbish! They knew we were not happy but no word of apology, I am very sorry and will think twice about visiting again. Certainly before I do I will have a conversation with them!

We had dinner here 2 nights running, the food was consistently good. The staff are really friendly and efficient. The service was great. You have great views of the sea and beach from most tables in the restaurant and there is a terrace for sunny days.
