We stopped here, based upon the reviews, for a light lunch. We were greeted by friendly owners and a lovely atmosphere.Having had a glass of wine each and some charcuterie and cheese for lunch, together with some wine to take away, we had a great time.Well worth the visit!

The Auberge le clos Saint Julien welcomes you in an old traditional Norman inn, slightly renovated. You can have lunch or dinner on the terrace in the middle of the fields, if time permits, and discover a cuisine of the moment, cooked exclusively from fre
We have been visiting this restaurant for over ten years now, and Nicolas never fails to deliver the best food ! The menu is presented on a blackboard with a starter of the day and a main dish of the day. everything is sourced locally, and cooked freshly. The ambiance whether in the small dining area near to the fire, which is cosy in the winter, or in the main dining area is always good. Highly recommended

We rented a villa in the town of Pont l'Eveque which is an absolutely, adorable storybook Normandy, France town. Within walking distance we have many fine bakeries, restaurants and shops. One of the restaurants we tried was Le Rollon. The ambiance is classic French and very welcoming. I have found that in this part of France, it is extremely helpful to know some French as the menus are not translated and French is spoken almost exclusively. Fortunately my teens were able to use and practice their French and we truly enjoyed the authentic experience.Every bite of food at Le Rollon was superb. We all had different entrees from the steak, salmon, roasted lamb and duck confit. We all loved everything and I had to try some of my son's potato gratin as it was fantastic. I still wonder how they get so many layers of the potato to cook so perfectly? I think I will go back and ask today. If you are looking for an intimate, cozy authentic French dining, definitely visit the lovely family who owns Le Rollon. I highly recommend you try and be sure to save room for dessert.

The place is rather small but cosy. Service is friendly. Food is good: we followed the Daily Specials suggestions â Italian red wine â cocktails â bisque / schrimps soup â sarde saussage â desserts ( for those who could continue ). Enjoyable diner in Trouville!

I had dinner there July 22, 2014. Small quaint and very friendly restaurant with a balance of tourists and locals. The food was very fresh and tasty - I thoroughly enjoyed my meal which started with "Salade Fraicheur" composed of tiny cubes or cucumber, apple, a little fresh tomato and mint, followed by a delicious rib steak. All this with the famous local Norman cider.I subsequently learned that the couple running the restaurant wanted to return to New York where they had worked (sorry no details available). Yet, the dishes are truly French. Prices are closer to Paris prices than local prices, but they have fixed price "Menus" which are quite varied and the food quality certainly justified the prices. I recommend them if your in the area.

Really good quality food. Attentive service. Friendly and accommodating to children. Bizarrely on the day we went it was relatively empty compared to many of the other restaurants in the strip many of which get much worse reviews! The extra space suited us as we had several young children in our party so we decided to give it a go anyway. Very glad we did. It was the most enjoyable meal of our holiday. Beautifully cooked and nicely presented. Small but quality wine list. Would definitely recommend.

Totally unexpected. I thought we were going for really traditional French cuisine. It was, but everything with a very different twist. Each meal had a spice, a subtle touch that reminded of the Caribbeans. Whether it was that very special pepper sauce, flavourful but not strong or all the desserts that were to die for. Service is impeccable. Decor is really nice.

This is a good place to drop in if you are looking for something local and reasonably priced. The menu offers a good selection of French cuisine and the set menu offers great value for money. The staff speak reasonable English and will help with the menu, although they donât have an English menu. Being off the beaten track and some distance from Deauville you pay about half the price o what you would in the touristic area.

We were heading back from Deauville to Paris and we suddenly felt hungry. We happened to find this great restaurant thanks to TripAdvisor. And it is a definitely a fresh change from overpriced and not so savory restaurant you can come across Deauville. Chef takes pride in focusing on few qualitative ingredients that are localy sourced. The cuisine is creative and flavorful. You have this great feeling of happiness when tasting the food.We had the 32 euros menu: amuse bouche, starter (cod ceviche with violet potatoes, mango chutney and oranges flavors), main (lieu with season vegetables, risotto venera, vanilla sauce and pomme dauphine's) and dessert (passion fruit souffle, ananas tartare and tuile almond caramel and banana mousse). I had just the main meal for 20 euros and the chef adapted the main meal for our 4 years old daughter (superb fish and vegetables)/(10 euros). The service is extremely friendly and flexible. We arrived just before the restaurant closed and they kindly accepted to serve us. We didn't mention we didn't eat meat. The amuse bouche were revisited chicken maki. And when we told them we couldn't eat them, they came back a few minutes later with fish friendly amuse bouche.Thank you for this delightful meal and for the friendly and warm welcome!

Gosh - at the best of times French cuisine can flatter to deceive. This place gave it to you straight between the eyes. Yesterdayâs chips served with a sparrowâs arse of a chicken breast fried to its pitiful death and served in a teaspoonful of nondescript sauce. Surely a yardstick for not giving a **** about your customer
