This restaurant has a lot of personality and excellent dishes - apparently fully homemade. Been there multiple times, 18 months apart, and never got disappointed, there is consistency in quality. The dishes are either traditional French (right now, riz de veau or andouillette) or a bit more fusion. You can eat inside or enjoy an outdoor space at the back, under trees (between habitation buildings - you cannot get it all !). The owner is extremely friendly and you can quickly engage into conversations, if you fancy.

I was taken to La Terrasse my my host, who lives nearby. Our meal was superb -- the lower price prix fix dinner had multiple foie gras options. I was going to select the traditional cold foie gras in sauterne, but my hosts steered me to the hot seared duck liver with scallops. One of the scallops came with the red coral. It was wonderful. There were two generously-sized pieces of foie gras. For main course there were multiple choices including a filet with foie gras sauce, but my hosts suggested the veal kidney with sweet breads. It was excellent, but not as good as my first course. Next was three cheese with a small salad and walnuts (in the shell). There was a big selection of desserts and the staff suggested the assortment with a small portion of about six of the different desserts. For me the highlight was the starting foie gras, but everything was excellent -- amazingly so at the 38 euro price.

We were staying in the Holiday Inn and this is just a five minute walk from there. We arrived just as they were opening (7:00) and were offered the 'last table', which we thought was quite funny there was no one else in there. We started with a glass of Kir, which came with croutons and tapenade. Being as we were in France we had to have escargot, this was a real surprise (yes we've had escargot many times before) they were beautifully served in a light tempura batter, absolutely delicious, and if you're a bit squeamish about escargot this would be a great way to try them. I had sea bream for my main this was served with a pasteisse sauce which worked well. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her moules. To finish we had some local cheese. All washed down with a bottle of Cote du Rhone. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and speak good English! By the time we were leaving the restaurant was full and buzzing with locals queuing for tables. Definitely worth booking for a Friday or Saturday night. Our meal came to â¬68.30, which we thought was good value.

On y apprécie l'ambiance agréable et décontractée. On prend autant de plaisir à boire un verre dans le coin bar cosy qu'à déguster un repas dans le bel espace chic et décalé. On découvre avec plaisir une carte variée et abordable. A noter: une très belle
Impressed with this restaurant. For a set price of â¬20 one can have a three course meal from a fairly extensive menu. There are a couple of dishes that attract a supplement...which is fair enough. The staff were very friendly and patient enough to let us try to order in French, but when required their command of English was very good and would clarify any uncertainties.Overall this proved to be very good value and would gladly recommend.Thank you very much see you soon

Located on a quaint little side street in 'downtown' Bougival, this restaurant is a delight. The service is kind and attentive, and the food is original and tasty. The little amuse-bouche they served (a savory cookie with an avocado cream & écrivisse) was a pleasure. The lunch menu (entree+plat+dessert) at 19,90⬠is a real deal, given the quality of the food. I had the oeuf mollet with asparagus & I would have preferred the egg to be runny, but to each his own. Everyone at our table had the cod which was perfectly cooked and the accompanying vegetables were exceptional. I had the riz au lait for dessert which was ok, but a little heavy because I had already eaten so much, and so well. I will definitely be back!

You are probably asking yourself why the rating isn't commensurate with the title and quite frankly I was very impressed with the food which is unfortunately not something I can say every day. Great value proposition, nice atmosphere (great open fire in the middle of the restaurant) and the quality and friendliness of the staff was good. That said, the speed of service was so slow that quite frankly it spoiled the whole experience which was a shame. Our lunch experience lasted over 2 hours (starter, main + dessert) !To be very fair, the waitress did offer us our appetitive which was an excellent reflection of the type of restaurant but the speed really did let them down.I will probably give them a second chance based on the quality/taste of the food but am really hoping that they work on the speed as its a shame to see such a great find ruined by something that should be relatively easy to fix.

Beautiful restaurant, well thought through decor with great eye for detail. Great view direction La Defense. Seriously good food, subtle tastes rather than overpowering ones. Friendly, well trained and knowledgeable staff. Just one minus: condensation from the huge pipes overhead dropping on the table, not very nice. No opinion about the price, as I was part of a group, invited by a business partner.

Found this restaurant right by the La Chateau bus stop on the corner of the road to Malmaison as lunchtime arrived and what an excellent find it was. The waitresses were very friendly, provided an English menu. The choice was good of both food and drinks. I was blown away by the excellent Sea Bass. The Salmon gourmet plate was also popular. Great place to eat.

It is traditional French cuisine. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes in appetizers, entrees and deserts. Guests have the choice of appetizer/entree or entree/desert for 28 euros, or you can choose the 3 courses for 35 euros which I believe was very reasonable for the quality of the food served. The four of us took different dishes and everything was just very good : I took the filet de boeuf which was very tender and the sauce outstanding. It is a small place so I would advise to make reservations. Would certainly go back when in the area.
