At Café Vaudois, our mission is to share our love of cooking with our customers. So we concentrate on serving delicious and authentic seasonal dishes. Tartare - Café Vaudois - RolleEverything we serve is freshly made, from the salad dressing to the apple
As a resident of Rolle for 13+ years and a previous customer who enjoyed this restaurant i was very disappointed however it has been pointed out to me that this place has changed hands since i last ate there and reviewed.Firstly this place is really nice - friendly and professional waiting staff, great decor and nice ambience. Then food... good salad starter ...and well it should be at 13 fr.Main course - entecote that uner previous ownership was a shining star here - now very thin and is it even entrecote - for 37 fr??For me a fondue motie motie - grainy and watery - sent it back. Apologies made and accepted and replacement much better. But here is the killer. For me no dessert just "cafe cognac" as every swiss resto serves - standard coffee and a house cognac, right? It was nice - so i ask for another. When i get the bill each single cognac charged at 22 fr EACH. So i check - house cognac is 22 fr a single shot?? YES they say. I ask maybe they should warn customers? They say this is house cognac.I am reasonable - i pay - i go away - never to return. Hold these bandits to account.Absolute thieves. Do NOT let them rip you off.

Delicious meal - had the Pizza Napoli and it was delicious. Staff were really personable and friendly and joked with us, as well as gave us free limoncello at the end of our meal. They really made the experience a 5*. Interior had character, wine was great, menu was wide. Would definitely recommend. Grazie!

Nice sunny day sitting outside with great views of the lake. Not much more you can ask as the food & service were both excellent.Of the filet de perche was the star dish & was just simply one of the best I have had (I have had a few !!).Lovely smiling waitresses made the experience outstanding.

food is excellent, really tasty and served with a big smilethe concept of using local produce is neat, just as the idea of serving everything with compostable plates and cutlery. Doesn't feel cheap at all and it's for a good cause.Wish more eateries would think the same.Eating with a good conscience, great and I left with a smile because it wasn't all that expensive.

The friendly service combined with ( for Switzerland ) very good prices for their set lunch alongside good quality food makes this a special place . It's not fine dining but the food is good and its just a walk across the road from the station . Not a gourmet occasion but great for a light lunch

Very pleasant, and different from the hundreds of tea shops and cafés in the region. Relaxing, beautiful décor, with a nice selection of drinks that you won't find in many other places.Thank you so much for your great comment! We are glad you enjoyed your relaxing time with us. We hope to see you again soon!

I was taken by someone who is something of a Bon Vivant and who has lived in the Rolle area for nearly 60 years. It is a place he knows well and, judging from the welcome, that knows him well. He described the place as unique -- for once the adjective fit. Neither he nor I had a crepe (the house specialty), but the mixed seafood grill I had (33 CHF) was simple, ample, and delicious. It could not have been better. Outstandingly friendly service. Reasonable, unfussy wines. Nothing pretentious. Bright and cheerful decor.

The Café du Port in Rolle is well known for its "filets de perche", a Lake Geneva specialty. The place is always full and reservations are essential. We went on Saturday night and were offered a table for 8:15 pm. The interior is simple and rustic, more of a bistrot atmosphere. The filets de perche come with French fries, and I asked whether the french fries could be substituted by rice. To my surprise, I was told they could not, only boiled potatoes are offered instead of fries. One should also note that the files de perche comes in two servings. They are good, but I do not consider them to be the best. And at CHF 47, this is an expensive dish. The wine list is short and does not mention vintages. I noted that a "carafe d'eau" is listed at CHF 4, whereas this is free in almost all other restaurants of the region. Given all this , I opted for the terrine de foie de volaille as a main - this was very good but I was surprised that this also came in two servings, which made this rather heavy as a main course....

Our son and his family live in Perroy. At Christmas we made reservations for a perch filet lunch. It was an absolutely outstanding meal. The restaurant is warm and cosy. Except for another table, we were the only non Swiss. The atmosphere was happy. From start to finish, the staff could not have been nicer. They accommodated our 12 member family as if we were just another branch of theirs. The perch and shoe string fries were delicious. We spent almost four hours at table. Fortunately, we could walk home. We had many bottles of a very good local white, desserts and cognac with our coffee. The bill was more than reasonable. Will we return? Definitely. It was one of the nicest dining experiences in Switzerland we've ever had the privilege to enjoy. Whitebeard83

We recently moved to Tartegnin and decided to book Sunday lunch at our local bistro. I had the filets de Perche, my husband the Sunday plat du jour of terrine, steak frites, Tarte Tatin for 40 CHF. Very good value and all excellent with pleasant unobtrusive service. Also nice to find a restaurant that does a Sunday Plat du Jour - not many restaurants do. No wonder, the place was busy. Local Chasselas was nice and inexpensive - afterwards we went for a walk round this pretty village set among the vineyards. Park at the public car park at the southern end of the village and walk up to the bistro for a nice lunch and who knows...we may bump in to you.
