It was rather more delicately flavoured than most German food I had experienced - tickled your palate rather than smacked you in the mouth.

I have read the comments and believe it was a bit overrated Aslıâm when we went there we have waited for 10 minutes to get our orders taken....Thank you for your rating. If you read the comments correctly, you know you were not in a fast food store. We take care of our guests.Since it can ever come to waiting times.Unfortunately, you have nothing to say about the quality of the food.Best regardsFamily Thiemann and team

Delightful dinner. Young but very talented chef.We were there for an especial occasion and honestly, with a lot of hesitation after trying so called "top" restaurants around Aachen region. But this one deserves to be among the best ones. Very creative and tasteful menu. They only have German wines, we were a little surprised at the begging, but we tried a couple of them with interesting results.Highly recommended

A very nice bar/restaurant. Informal atmosphere and friendly staff. Had steak with lovely mushroom and onion topping, Wiener schnitzel ( pork) and ham asparagus and potatoes. All meals really good and good value for money. Advise to book in advance as was busy and not so big. To be recommended

Schröders Eck is a deliciuos traditional restaurant in the middle of Nationalpark Eifel, very close to the little gem Monschau. The owners, husband and wife, are very kind and disposable. The wife has french origins and she's gonna be pleased to talk her language with you!Her husband, the cook, has dutch origins and he's very talented, recipes are original and extremely well cooked!!The place is peaceful and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. We ate there in august twice (the first day at lunch, then two days later at dinner) and we taste several dishes. You can eat meat or fish, i reccomend the zander and the deer! They have also a choice of tasty salads, and you got to taste the potato soup absolutely!!!Ask for Kapuziner beer, they have a very good one!Ingredients are all of very good quality and prices are restrained! The second time we ate there they litterally flooded the table with delicious food and we pay less than 35 euro at person!Don't miss it if you go over there!

We nearly passed by without stopping. Fortunately either good luck or good sense got us parked and inside for a delicious and memorable meal. Busy with regulars on a Saturday lunchtime means they're getting something right. What struck me as strange however was the list of mainly French wines, when one is close to such an abundance of good German vintners - perhaps this is what counts as 'posh' hereabouts.
Essen zu mittleren Preisen und Gute Karte sowie gute Weine erfreuen den Gaumen.Geeignet zu besonderen Anlässen dort sich unter Freunden oder Familie einen gemütlichen Abend zu leisten

Just at the Old Market at Roetgen is this inviting Restaurant âZum Alten Marktâ. The place is inside a Restaurant and a Bar as well. The menu is âClassic German with a Balkanise twistâ, the salad bar in the corner of the Restaurant too obvious. The food is good and the meat tastful. If you are nearby Roetgen, Zum Alten Markt is a good stop.

Mirabela is one of those restaurants that surprises and is definitely worth visiting. Located some 20 minutes from Aachen in the small town of Roetgen, it is easy to find and there is free car parking. From entering the restaurant the service was friendly and attentive. While the menu was in Germany only, the waiter made suggestions and gave advice in English. The restaurant has a deliberate Mediterranean feel, and is open and relaxed. We started with beef carpaccio and a marinated goats cheese salad (drizzled with a Balsamic vinegar sauce). The taste and presentation were excellent and of a level that you would expect to find (if lucky) at much more expensive restaurants. For the main courses, my son and I had Argentine rindfilet (which I think translates into tenderloin) while my wife had prawns. All were perfectly cooked and full of flavour to the extent that our teenage son cleared his plate including vegetables! The complete meal of two starters, three mains (and not the least expensive on the menu), several glasses of house Pinotage wine, cola and mineral water came to 111⬠- which for the total experience we considered to be excellent value - we talked about it all the way home! Mirabela is now our preferred "local".

The restaurant located in an old missionary serves a small menu with easy going meals and easy going service. Very cheap and in accordance with the meal. Not too fancy, but good to go. We had the local special "Zuur vlees" which was alright. The restaurant closes at 8 PM!!! So be in time.
