Amazing food and wine!! We have been there several times and it never gets old. With their authentic flavours and combinations, they never seize to amaze. And to top it off, they have imported Italian wine which is incredible. Not easy to find a really good bottle of wine and a decent price. And the cherry on top, the owner and people that work there!Grazie mille Mrs_dom_lickerWe work our heart off to keep above mass produced/industrial/commercial production so thanks for spotting this, especially with wines... it's extremely rewarding.Hope to see you guys again soon!Big hug!Beppe and staff

We have been to Rufus before in the evening but just for a drink. This time we wanted to try the Sunday lunch.I had phoned to make a reservation as the online booking system wasn't working. The Sunday lunch menu is small which I prefer .We both decided to have the roast beef meal. I only wanted one course but my friend decided to have the home made soup. We ordered some wine too.We waited, waited and waited . It was an hour before the soup was brought to the table. Then another longish wait for the main course. Although the menu advertises the "real" gravy they have, there was no gravy to be seen with our meal. We asked the serving staff & also for some horseradish sauce. The gravy was brought but not the horseradish sauce. The food was good except for the cauliflower which was soggy. It's a pity the service was so slow and slightly chaotic. An error was made with our bill which was corrected when it was pointed out

About Us Welcome to JS Restaurant JS is the oldest kosher restaurant in Manchester, our reputation for quality food and good service has grown and grown over the years from our humble beginnings in 1956 to a restaurant which can now cater for over 150 din
This place had a makeover a year or so ago, following a fire, and it looks only slightly different now. Iâm not sure that the changes are for the better, as the benches and chairs make it look more like a cafe (as opposed to a restaurant) now. The menu has also changed quite a bit - itâs more restricted now, and it has more of a Middle eastern feel than a traditional kosher feel. In other respects, though, itâs still the same: you still get service that floats between unfussy (on the edge of surly) and helpful, and the waitresses were particularly good at advising my son on the kidsâ portions and helping him to decide whether to order from the kidsâ menu or from the adultsâ (and offering to adapt the latter to suit him). The best bit, as ever, was the food, with large portions as usual: good, hot chicken soup (although a bit too salty), and good teriyaki chicken (with the customary excellent chips); the lamb was good too (a huge portion), and my son was very happy with both his burger and his hot dog. The desserts were a bit disappointing, with the description of the chocolate explosion somewhat over-selling the rich, distinctly unchocolately product that arrived. The least impressive bit was that there wasnât a lock on the gentsâ loo - with only one male loo facility (no urinals), it really isnât good enough to expect occupants to sit (or stand) there knowing that some unwitting other customer might walk in at any time. This restaurant of course corners the market, but it wouldnât take much to convert it from being a decent place to a very good place. As it is, thereâs a just a bit too much of taking the clientele for granted for me to be truly evangelical about it.

Our local Italian restaurant that we normally frequent was fully booked, it was late afternoon on a Sunday and a last minute decision to eat out, so we checked the internet for a nice alternative near to us. We decided on Porada after reading their great reviews.I can't believe I haven't heard about it before. It is large, very stylish and imaculate, like an expensive city centre establishment, which can sometimes be a bit up themselves, so I was hesitant on entering. No need to worry, we were warmly welcomed in by the friendly staff. Some of our party chose from the main menu my husband and I chose from the set menu as it was good value, there is only one vegetarian choice on the set menu, so it was limited for me. We all really enjoyed our meals, which were well presented and delicious. The staff set a high standard and service is very professional. I look forward to our next visit.

What an interesting restaurant nice inside, small and cosy but cold. Waitress was excellent and really friendly. The food was okay not great had a Groupon and ended up spending an extra £44 on wine and supplements. Starters basic Ribeye was extremely thin Chicken stroganoff yes chicken not beef was weird please see the pic. For atmosphere and staff I would go back for food no unfortunately. Extremely disappointing.

Vegan review: Booked this table at the last minute with friends! The vegan options were not clearly marked, however the staff were happy to go through the menu and discuss them. They said it is something theyâre looking to improve. I got garlic bread with vegan cheese - the garlic came in a separate pot as their original garlic butter has dairy in it. It was so delicious! Then got the goatâs cheese and roasted red onion salad for main, swapping in vegan cheese. The salad bit was a bit bland but the cheese, tomatoes and onion on French bread was delightful! I think they forgot the pine nuts. For dessert, the only option was lemon sorbet, so had that. They told me they used to do another dessert, âcheeseâ cake I believe. To drink, I had a couple of elderflower pressés. The service was great, the food was lovely, prices were reasonable, the location was central! I would give more stars for clearly marked vegan options and more of them.

Where do you want me to start this isnât SPANISH, I am Spanish and I love my food but it was BLAND food, no flavour or taste at all, will not be returningHi Jose. Thanks for taking time out of your day to create a trip advisor account and leave us this unhelpful review. Itâs a shame you have had to create an account in order to leave this negative feedback, rather than just telling one of our members of staff at the time of your visit... Please can you provide me some more details of your visit please? Canât seem to find your name on our booking system. Iâm really sorry you donât like what we offer. Your review doesnât provide much helpful insight on how we can improve though? We are extremely proud of our food and donât claim for it to be exclusively Spanish :) we would hate to be limited to just one country. Our food is freshly made and prepared everyday and is our own personal take on tapas...Please do get in contact, I would love to discuss this further! [email protected] Muchas gracias :) Faye Co-Owner
