We dropped by on the off-chance on Friday evening and were seated inside with window views over the lovely countryside. Dinner, while not inventive or imaginative, was copious, well-presented and of a high quality, with a strong meat bias and good pasta dishes - we much enjoyed our pici al ragu di cinghiale. Table service was attentive and friendly.Easy parking at the end of the short but very bumpy driveway leading to the locanda.Thanks..hope to see you again..our philosophy: quality first.!!..ciao..

We stopped here quite by chance and ended up with a lovely platter of local meats and cheeses along with a local red wine. We were only wanting a light meal, so this was perfect. The small dining area was intimate but still private for all tables. There are tables outside but it was a bit chilly the evening we were there so we chose to sit inside. The staff were great and very helpful and efficient. We certainly recommend coming here for local meats and cheeses.

However, the spaghetti were stuck together ( agglutinate) and broken( probably before they were stored in the refrigerator at the bottom of a pot)On my request to give me a discount was refused.Who else wants to eat badly and to pay 40 �Dear guest,thank you very much for having written us a review, because it is always an occasion to improve ourselves. We apologize for what happened to you and for the misunderstanding with our metre, due probably to language problems. Anyway we are used to serve express and fresh foods, prepared with selected short chain local products and the main aim of our staff is to meet customers needs, trying to satisfy always their requests. We hope to have you as our guest next time you come to Castiglione del Lago.

We had few meals at this restaurant and at all times the food was delicious. My daughter's wedding lunch dinner and Hors d'oeuvre for wine tasting was truly amazing. They also catered for one guest who was gluten intolerant. I have put the pictures of the dishes in hotel review.All the guess were very happy with the quality of food. Thank you staff.

This is a great restaurant below the old town, next to Lake Trasimeno. Very good service, imaginative menu with many home-made dishes not found elsewhere. Excellent starters, delicious home-made pasta and crispy pizzas. We started with a fish and a vegetarian antipasto - the vegetarian plate included grilled vegetables, quiche, several different crostini, lasagne and salad - all very tasty. Followed by home-made ravioli and pizzas. Too full for dessert. Very reasonably priced. Only negative was that it was a special night in Castiglione "Notte Bianco" so towards the end of the meal the place was full and they didn't seem to have quite enough waiting staff to cope.

It is worth the trip outside of Chiusi to visit the ancient villa, its private church and to dine outside the former stables (scuderie is Italian for stables). The chefs prepare and present very good local cuisine. The local wines are intoxicating. The service is attentive. The prices are value driven. Would I dine here again? Yes. Would I recommend it to others? Yes.

Great view of the lake, unusually for this area in a slightly secluded location so you are away from the hustle and bustle and eternal traffic. Lovely park which is dog friendly. Good food - the fried lake fish is delicious - and good pasta, with some slightly unusual combinations. Definitely a place to come back to.

Came in for some take away after a long day of touring and was not very comfortable entering. Waiter/staff seemed off put by my request to order food and pointed me downstairs to a friendly woman that was more accommodating. I was unable to obtain a menu and was told what they would make me.....a pasta with meat sauce, a salad and pork chops. The food was decent enough, but based upon the unfriendly first impression and an inability to actually order what we wanted, I can't see returning here for a sit down. I know Italy doesn't do take out great, but if you are serving food, you may want to think this aspect. I doubt they survive in this area.

Absolutely best beef ever, with very modern and uncommon style of serving. Also the wines are very, very good, and strong. The restaurant is also very nice and the waiter/owner very helpful. But cannot speak English, you have to practise the Italian :o)Make a reservation in advance.They are closed on Mondays.Defenitely the best beef tartar and beef sashimi ever.

On every occasion when new people are introduced to this restaurant, they go back. The changing seasonal menu is a gastronomic delight. Whether the produce is of the land, sea or lake it is extremely tasty and wonderfully cooked. It is complimented by sensibly priced wine. The service is excellent. If I were to make a criticism, it would be that Francesca,the proprietor/chef, does not visit tables and therefore misses out on very favourable feedback.
