After walking around downtown and the port, this looked like the place to go.The menu had many choices including specials. The waiter engaged us in friendly conversation, and gave all the credit to Nadine, who has been making crepes for 25 years! The galettes were delicious, as well as the dessert crepes. We will definitely re-visit if we return to Douarnenez.

Opened in 2007, our Restaurant "L'insolite" gives a major place to fresh products prepared by resourceful and highly trained Chefs. Gael Ruscart and Philippe Clauss will offer you a menu changing with the season, including the best products from the sea a
Such a great surprise to find such great food in this quiet unassuming hotel. The chefs are award winning and the blend of flavours were so delicately and perfectly balanced - something I have never found ever before. The wines recommended also perfectly complimented the food. Restaurant inside is tasteful and roomy while the terrace was lovely on warm weather. Great relaxed atmosphere.

We'd just come home from an overnight car ferry trip back from Ireland, and there was no food in the fridge. When we phoned Le Prieuré, they accommodated us despite having to cater to the annual "seniors" lunch. Though they were apologetic about the relative lack of choice (it was also their last day before a short break), we were able to choose from a decent selection on their menu. All in all, a perfectly fine lunch. Friendly multilingual service, and clean toilets too.

Found this restaurant whilst traveling around Finistere. What a find. Firstly the view from the restaurant and garden of the Brittany coast was stunning. I chose a 3 course seafood menu. What a treat. Next time I am in Brittany Iâm heading straight there.

Restaurants don't come any friendlier or more welcoming than this. Foodwise, queen scallops, finely chopped shallots blended in cream twixt super thin crisp buckwheat with lovely green salad were delicious as was the wonderfully flavoured mushroom & cheese version. Rich banana chocolate & coconut crepes flambeed with rum completed the treat. Some very good veggie options plus a few unusual specials too. Lovely proprietor and lady assistant. Open Monday evenings a bonus.

A delicious meal in a slightly old-fashioned but charming setting with wonderful views of the sunset. Our whole party enjoyed their meals immensely - in particular, the turbot (the catch of the day) was outstanding and perfectly cooked. Also the scallops were divine! Contrary to other reviewers, I do think that the prices reflect the excellent quality of the food served and are not high compared to other establishments in the area.Very good service from charming staff - nothing was too much trouble for them. Highly recommended all round.

This modern restaurant serves delicious local ingredients and food looks beautiful. We had the 5 courses menu including 2 courses of sea food (langoustine and homard), fresh fish (turbo), a delicious pre-desert made from buckwheat (including ice cream) and tasty desert with fraises de Plogastel. they do their own bread and five different types were served. Interesting choice of wines and ciders, including Cidre de chataigne. The plateau de fromages is impressive for the area where cheese is not so popular. View on la baie de Douarnenez is splendid on sunny days!

This country inn restaurant is just off the main square of Locronan but is right on target with scrumptious meals. We started with an exquisite salad of cheese en croute with crisped prosciutto, strawberries, apples and grapes. For main courses, we had two excellent fish dishes (cod and the other was salmon) with potatoes, green beans, carrots, and peas with a butter and lemon sauce. Both courses were accompanied by a very pleasant dry white wine (Muscadet). For dessert we had a magnificent lemon curd tart and a delectable chestnut mouse with chocolate sauce over baked pear. The service was prompt, very hospitable and nicely tolerant of our broken French. We would definitely go back in the future. Note: in Brittany, it seems to be the rule that there is only one sitting so the table is yours for the night.

For our first evening in Finistere we took our host's recommendation and tried the Comptoir des Voyageurs and were pleased with the result. Good to excellent food, OK service, overall very nice. The village is a must-see during the day, though then somewhat crowded with tourists. In a Sunday evening, when other local restaurants are closed, and the town is mostly empty, it's a magically peaceful location for a short stroll before or after dinner.
