The Ristorante-Enoteca ALEX at Marina di Pietrasanta tastefully interprets both food and hospitality while privileging new flavours; all in perfect harmony with its surroundings. A culinary oasis just a few meters from the beach, its recognised quality ha
I went to Ristorante & Enoteca Alex as I was looking for a good fish restaurant to go with my wife and Alex was recommended to us by some friends. Both my wife and I are foodies so we really pay attention to the places we go eat. The ambiance is very nice and welcoming. When we got there we were welcomed and given a table on the outside terrace as we requested when we did our reservation. We didn't have to wait too long to get our menus, water and the bread mix with an interesting anchovies' butter spread. The MENU: you can tell it is a restaurant specialized in fish but there are several options for people who look for an earthy alternative. WINE: The wine list is very thorough as the place is also an Enoteca. You can name any of the top labels and a special vintage and you most probably find it. The good thing is that if you do not want to spend too much you can find a good price/quality ratio alternative.FOOD: We started the crudo di mare (raw fish) and Shrimps in kataifi pastry on avocado cream. We both were very impressed by the fact the fish was left pretty much natural but was very tasty and balanced. Meaning this the fish was super fresh. As main we had the Spaghetti allo scoglio (spaghetti with seafood) and Ricciola di Fondale (blackfish) on a squid ink potato purée. Both mains were perfectly balanced in texture, taste, temperature and cooked to perfection. To finish sorbetto (try Melone and Peperoncino) for both and coffee.SERVICE: The service was accurate and the personnel very nice and professional in both manners and look. OVERALL: The overall experience was great. This is definitely a place we will go back to.

Tuesday evening after Easter celebrations everyone had, it was hard to come up with a solution for a dinner out with guests!Horrific weather just like November we wanted something laidback but nice and stylish.Used to summer pleasant treats we thought about Filippo at Pietrasanta. His new location in via Barsanti 45 is stylish understated and just walkathons we needed!Enjoy full evening in 9 of us of which 5 of our kids. Magnificent dishes, equilibrated portions, excellent combinations of flavours. BRAVO Filippo ed il suo team!!!Grazie per la gradevolissima serata.A presto Cepparello and Co!

Do you like tuna? Here you can choose between the antipasto (starter) ceviche (raw tuna) or the main course of seared tuna steak. Both cost the same. My partner took the latter with roast vegetables - all were delicious. I took the antipasto seafood salad in preference to the fish soup on the recommendation of the waiter/manager whose wife cooks... divinely! I don't know how she does it, but every clam in my salad was a gustatory revelation - slightly sweet, they were the highlight of a copious plate of octopus, crayfish, prawns, mussels and slender, raw vegetables. Everything else came up to the same standard: the bread, the recommended wine, even the unusual napkins witha poem on them (in English, albeit not a literary masterpiece!).I very rarely order dessert in Italy, not just because one course usually suffices, but because Italian restaurants nearly always offer the same uninspired, commercial fare. This place is different and I would have gladly eaten any one of the desserts on offer. I opted for what turned out to be a custard tart, purportedly with apple and Calvados. Whatever - it did not disappoint. To accompany it I selected a French dessert wine with the flavour of Williams pears - a superb choice.I imagine that this review will be lost amongst hundreds of others since this restaurant has already received the highest possible accolade from TripAdvisor and I really do not know why I am bothering to add to the plaudits. For whatever good it does it will earn me another one of TripAdvisor's badges and satisfy some inner creative urge to talk about something agreeable.I should mention that the final bill for one starter, one main course with a side dish of vegetables, one dessert, one bottle of water, one glass of white wine and one glass of dessert wine amounted to €57.

We popped in without any clue and we had the best experience. Lovely atmosphere, pleasant location, delicious food. I had a supertasty animal and dairy free meal, my husband chose a fish soup; then vegetables for me and an apple pie for him. Everything was perfect and the kindness of the people made the experience even more worthy. I took a photo of the flavorful and attractive appetizer offered by the house. do not miss it!

What a beautiful restaurant, tucked away in pietrasanta, serving delicious steaks. Staff are helpful, food is fresh and tasty, shared the 1.2kg. T bone, which is enough for 3 people. All steaks come quite rare so worth mentioning if need it cooked further. Highly recommend this place. Not cheap!

Had a dinner here with friends this week based on very high TA ranking. Food was very average: risotto bland, tuna chewy and poor quality, Chianina burger was tasty but small with very dull fries/sides. Dessert was good. Staff pleasant. Wine list OK. Expected something a little special/passionate but absolutely not!

We visited Il Circo at the recommendation of friends. It is a couple of minutes walk from the main square in Pietrasanta, and we went a little earlier than most Italian diners, so were the first there, though it was full shortly afterward. We had foie gras in an orange sauce that was to die for and my husband's pork had slow cooked for 48 hours and was amazing. The couple who own it are a fantastic team, he in the kitchen, she in the dining room. Wow!
