Find out what European restaurants to try in Passau. Known as Dreiflüssestadt (City of Three Rivers), Passau is the place where the Danube meets the Inn and the Ilz. The picturesque city lies in Germany’s far southeast corner near the Austrian border. Settled since prehistory and a former hub of the salt trade, it became the Roman village of Batavis, then later the Holy Roman Empire’s largest diocese and a sword-making center. Saint Stephan’s Cathedral, home of the world’s second-largest cathedral organ, is one of Passau’s favorite attractions.

Restaurant is popular with young people and has low ceilings so it is noisy. Food is good, servings are large, service can be slow due to volume. we had penne with gorgonzola sauce and marguerita pizza, both excellent. The caprese salad was good.

The food was really great, the beer average, service good. The location of the toilets is a bit awkward, and it was also a bit cold at the tables near the entrance hall, and of course in the hall itself.

We walked around and stopped in front of the city hall where we had sausages and beer for lunch . It was enjoyable to appreciate the views..

This is a perfect place to relax for awhile over a glass of wine or a coffee. Friendly, English speaking staff. Fresh flowers and lit candles throughout make this place warm and cozy. Free WIFI and clean restrooms. They make their own pear and apple brandy from the Black Forest which is excellent and not overpriced. They have food too- fresh. Meats and desserts look wonderful. Great find.

My son and I were visiting Passau and had dinner here. The restaurant is very traditionally German but the food was a cut above what one normally finds. I had schnitzel and my son had kase spaetzel. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting, the service friendly and efficient, and the decor very traditional. Plus the beer was good. A nice dinner choice near the tip of the old town.

The restaurant 'Bayerischer Lowe' offers a nice biergarten in the Passau city centre. The dishes are typical Bavarian style. You should try it!

The history of the house and the historic wood panelled rooms make eating here a special experience. The quality of the food is excellent, the service OK.

We stopped in for a drink and ended up staying for dinner. Cool and trendy inside and a beautiful garden, where we sat for dinner. Excellent wine list. Friendly service and great food. The iberico pork chop was delicious. All the choices are imaginative and contain the freshest ingredients (we saw them bringing in the mushrooms at 5:30pm). There are many good restaurants in this small town, this is an excellent one!

Always a hearty welcome from the owner/manager.Do not miss this restaurant if you live fish: lobster soup and - of course - their signature dish. But best of all is their sole. Always fresh ( but on booking a table pre-order the sole or you might be disappointed. It costs around â¬30 but worth every penny - do not get robbed off elsewhere with so-called fillets of sole for ⬠20 which are anything BUT sole!

This was by far the best dinner we had on our 10 day Inn River cycling tour. The menu is quite upmarket, and would be attractive to gourmands. The outdoor garden seating is attractive with tables nicely spaced.Service was discrete and delightful. The food was superb. The menu is fairly limited, always a good sign in my mind, so you are recommended to check before booking to make sure the options are attractive to you.I tried to book this place for one of the other nights we stayed in Passau, but regrettably the venue was fully booked. Little wonder, its a great restaurant.
