Licenced Wine Bar/Restaurant with 28 seats, growing Wine List, Draught Beers, Sharing Platters, Meals, and Snacks from Breakfast time to late night. Occasional acoustic live music in the centre of Sidmouth town.
Today was special. It was our wedding anniversary. We came down to Sidmouth to avoid the congestion of our local area currently hosting an air show. When in Sidmouth, we usually eat out at âThe Shipâ.Tonight the Ship was full and unable to accommodate any further bookings.Thank goodness for that because we strolled around the corner in search of an alternative venue. We noticed The Blues Wine Bar and from the menu we thought âLets give it a go!âFirstly the ambience was just right. The seating is traditional 2 or 4 tables, with a suite of leather upholstered chairs and sofa for patrons partaking of a wine and a gossip. Each table was lit by proper candles..(not tea lights!)Anyone who has read any of my previous reviews will be aware of my pet hate...(piped muzak). Well I have to say the owners of this venue have it just right. There is music but it is pleasant and âbackgroundâ low enough to hear but not intrusive and a lovely selection of easy listening jazz. We could therefore hold a conversation without having to shout! There were a few very friendly and pleasant locals in who slid made us welcome. This has to be one of the best decisions we have made in ages.We were made very welcome by a very attentive young lady who, whilst being attentive was not overbearing and knew the choice of pasta dishes that are available and gave sound advice on the consistency and taste of each dish.My wife had spaghetti Bolognese, whilst I had spaghetti carbonara. Now Iâm very fussy about my carbonara. I donât like it floating in a heavily creamy sauce!Wow! This dish certainly did not disappoint. I have to say it was without doubt the best spaghetti carbonara that ai have ever had! Oh and yes I did compliment the staff on this.I canât wait to come back to a Sidmouth and come back for a second visit. We might even come on a Sunday for a roast.Thank you and well done Blues Wine Bar for helping to make our special day.
We are a locally run garden centre in Honiton, Devon that sell only the very best quality plants & our staff have over 80 years horticulture experience. We also have a restaurant that serves cakes, breakfasts and lunches using fresh, local food.
First time I have used the cafe/restaurant, what a lovely place, very clean and tidy, nice selection of drinks and cakes... have always used another local well known garden centre... but this is now firmly the favourite!Fab staff...

For refined dining in a glamorous seaside hotel, head to this elegant two AA rosette restaurant. At the very heart of Sidmouth, Betjeman's best-loved seaside resort, the Hotel Riviera. Extensive menus use the best fresh and locally sourced produce, with s
Weather permitting, you could just about imagine yourself in the south of France when visiting the Riviera: the name, the white building, the palm trees, the white tables and chairs in the courtyard, and in the restaurant, an attractive dinner plate at each setting only removed after the amuse bouche. The two of us, both octogenarians, had an excellent dinner on a wet Tuesday evening in early April. The amuse bouche was followed by duck & blueberry terrine and lobster & crab mouse. Then it was rack of lamb and paupiette of lemon sole with the relevant accompaniments. All wonderful. Coffee and mint tea came with a small plate of delightful petits fours.Service was discreet, professional and unhurried, and the background piano music and subdued lighting both added to the relaxed atmosphere.

Situated at the heart of Sidmouth town centre and Esplanade, Dukes is a family friendly Seaside inn offering relaxed dining, drinks and accommodation all year round.
We stayed in the hotel and I wasnât sure what to expect from its restaurant. I shouldnât have worried it was excellent. The staff are very friendly and the service is efficient. I was very impressed with the standard of the food. The menu is good with something for everyone.Several of our party had fish and chips which they all thought excellent. I had Hake which was beautifully cooked. I know the meat eaters were happy with their food too. The portions were big, the food nicely presented and very fresh.Definitely glad we came.

We popped down for a few days break and booked here for three nights on the trot. We just love this place. Friendly service, comfortable surroundings, excellent wine list and amazing, innovative food, beautifully presented and very good value. All the food we had on the three days was stunning, the lamb and summer vegetables in red wine sauce with crispy pieces of rosemary batter was gorgeous, and the slow cooked pork belly with the spicy sausage, red wine sauce was stunning and so clever with the strips of raw sweet apple to add a crisp texture.I loved the gravad lax with the dill sauce and those amazing rye crisps, and tiny lightly pickled veg; a real tongue tingler. The smoked duck breast with beetroot and barberries and beetroot sauce with walnuts and orange was equally delicious. I am already looking forward to our next trip to Devon, and eating here again.

We stubbled across JKs while exploring Honiton; we stopped for coffee and looked at dinner menu. Returned that night for dinner and enjoyed a really good meal. The owners are a delight and its so good to meet the chef when you eat out. It is a tiny place but worth a visit.

Award winning boutique Restaurant with Rooms just outside Sidmouth in East Devon. 7 Ensuite Bedrooms, Spa, fitness room, Private Car park & award winning gardens. Restaurant with an A la Carte Menu made from a strong ethos to local produce.
We arrived during a power cut early in the day. The hostess couldnât have been more accommodating explaining what was available ( most of the menu) . Such delicious food and a rare find that is fine dining that will accept canine companions. Highly recommended, loved it !We are delighted that you enjoyed your somewhat disrupted service with the power cut, we can still manage to cook a meal the old fashioned way!! Doggies are very welcome in one of our two dining areas and to be honest to date we have never had a bad dog visit, well-behaved owners are most welcome too!!!

Ate here last Friday with friends and really disappointed had crab cake to star meant to have Thai bisque with it but that had disappeared then had the Halibut special with dauphinois potatoes very small portion and no vegetables in sight. One guest had the lamb curry very little sauce and very salty. She made a comment to the waitress but no apology or concern shown or comment. Also the waiter spilt the wine when pouring but never cleaned the spilt wine up. Unfortunately we all agreed the food or service was not up to standard on previous visits so very disappointed with our visit. Perhaps it has changed hands or Chefs?? either way we will think twice before returning
