I simply love the Wein- und Bierschanke... It a simple place, not fancy at all, with lots of character and great food. Everything you order there has something special... the Flammkuchen are just great, the meat skewers that they hang from the lamps (in the photo above) are great option!! Everyone will find something delicious to eat here!!But like I said, bring your light spirit and don't expect nothing fancy!

During the recent heatwave in Worms, Kolb's Biergarten (or 'Kolbe Gretchen' as it is known locally) was the perfect spot to be. Sitting under the trees along the Rhine with their perfect 'Knusperhaehnchen' was delightful. They serve 'Mittagstisch' too and it has been a very popular spot for many years, so reservations are recommended.

We ate here on the first night of a two-week trip and the meal is among the best we had. We had pork tenderloin prepared two different ways and each was very good. Nice salad bar. We would recommend although it is away from the city center and very little English is spoken here.

Two years ago I have been a guest in this restaurant. The chef made specially for me vegan menus during the two weeks of my stay. I'm happy to be again here for the next two weeks and enjoy, together with my darling wife, the virtuosity of Hans-Jürgen Armauer! You see and feel immediately that he loves to cook!

We stayed one night in Worms and were fortunate in our choice of hotel and restaurant, both run by Italians. Viva Italia! Tivoli restaurant was the real McCoy. Good ingredients, treated with care and expertise. We had antipasti served with a thin, rosemary focaccia. The rosemary was unusually soft and tender. Simple food, but delicious. Portions were Italian size, rather than German, which suited us as we had to undergo a heat wave during our 10 days in Germany. We each chose different past dishes - again simple but excellent. Again the heat prompted us to choose the lighter of the two Nero d'Avola wines on offer. A perfect meal.

Schlösschen am morstein: fine dining in the ancient villa during winter. Competence in plant based food. Weingarten am morstein: great wine selection with food in ancient garden. Gewölbe am morstein: food and wine in 35m long, ancient cellar.
This restaurant is a hidden gem in the country side. Service was attentive and all food was cooked to perfection. May I recommend to just serve oven baked potatoes than fried ones, reminded me too much of chips. In the world of globalisation, it is hard to judge non German native speakers, however basic vocabulary would be good for wait staff, I.e. not saying sehr gut Menü whilst giving you the menu. Conclusively, you are not far away to get 5 stars next time.

If you've ever wondered how good lunch can be when you're a pensioner then this is the place to find out. The changing daily special clearly attracts many of the ageing locals but some also come for the excellent a la carte choice - an interesting mix of traditional country fayre and fish dishes with much attention to detail: the excellent brioche with the fois gras, the herb salt with the bread, the ginger and wasabi with the tuna, the chestnuts with the duck and the succulent prawn with the perfectly-cooked turbot. The wine is regional with a couple of pleasant surprizes like the re-discovered spicy Gelber Orleans Urrebe and an excellent Scheurebe from neighbouring Westhofen.

Modern hospitality paired with a creative but still dowm-to-earth cuisine
It's not cheap, but the food is outstanding as is the choice of wines. The menu is interesting and the staff are outstanding and friendly. An added bonus is that some of the staff speak English
