Weâre a family of 4 looking for a local pizza for dinner and came across Mona Liza. Saturday evening, no reservation and we got a table outside. Great service, easy menu and great food. We had 2 Cokes, a beer and small wine with 4 large pizzas for â¬82 and really enjoyed it. Worth a visit.

What a busy restaurant! Home made burgers, tartares, salads and grilled fish and meat are served by a friendly team. A nice terrasse with sea view and a large choice of beers. Enjoy your time!
Great burgers, good service and yummy home made desserts. Happy with our visit! Will return when hunger for a good burger appears.

Wonderful service from a very hard working service team; the young man especially warm and welcoming. Speaks excellent English and couldn't do enough for us. The food was easily the best we have had in Sables and not badly priced either. Imaginative and brilliantly executed - and not mean with portion size! Wine was well priced and a good choice. All in all a great place - slightly off the main " port " or "seafront " run of restaurants and all the better for it. Full of French people out with their families and friends. No sea view but the food and ambience more than make up for it. Go and you won't be disappointed!

This is the second time we have eaten here and we love this place! The food is beautifully cooked, the house wine fantastic and the creme brûlée is almost the best in France I have had.We love the atmosphere and the waitress is adorable as I am learning french so she made me speak in French and she answered me in English...:-) Just wonderful as a night out !

The welcome here is at best offhand and possibly even surly, and the interior of La Pilotine is dark and soulless. The restaurant is however well-placed and famous âsablesâ of the broad sandy beach are right opposite - although there is no terrace from which to enjoy the view. Given the vast numbers of summer visitors who flock to this fashionable resort, it must be relatively easy for La Piloting to fill its tables without trying too hard. Perhaps this is why the cuisine has become routine and forgettable, no longer really meriting its Michelin bib gourmand - there is a sense the the owners are bored, and that their operation has become rather routine and uninspired . The food is competently done, but there seems to be little enthusiasm and the menu is somewhat greedily priced. There were no major flaws to our dinner, but somehow something was lacking - it was all rather mechanical and predictable. The service is efficient but indifferent, and nobody seemed to care.

Situated in a side street away from the restaurants on the front, this is a real find. The staff are very friendly and speak little English and are very attentive. There is a good choice of meats and fish on the menu. The presentation of the food was good. Two courses were 12.50Euros or three courses 16.50 Euros. For desert try the cafe Gourmande( a selection of three deserts and a small black coffee - delicious). Half a litre of house wine was 5 Euros. A meal for two was 44 Euros. You are not rushed and can take your time over your meal. An enjoyable evening. Closed on Sundays & Mondays.

Delightful small restaurant with good personal service. We were early diners, first through the door and the restaurant filled up around us. Lovely to see some locals in there too. Great selection of food on the blackboard - I enjoyed a very refreshing Mojito too. Lovely fresh food and beautifully presented. It was a lovely stroll from our hotel, across on the ferry and then the same home. A perfect evening. Would definitely return.

A full restaurant with good simple food at a reasonable price - we were lucky to arrive just as it was opening and get one of the only unhooked tables. We felt even luckier as all the subsequent people who âwalked upâ were told there was nothing before 9.30pm!Fish soup had a rich flavor and the fruits de mer avoided the trap of being cooked into rubberiness. The skate wing was imaginative and delicious. I have not encountered deep fried capers before but they added a delightful counterpoint to the delicately poached fish. The staff could not have been more friendly and the wine list was solid if not extensive, but well priced. All in all, this should be somewhere you go if you donât want to spend excessively on some of the âfine diningâ options around the town. You will not be disappointed.
