Ate here during a holiday in the area. The place had been booked for a party which had cancelled, hence it was very quiet with some walk up business. The food was excellent but a little background music would have helped with atmosphere. Service was ok but not very friendly. Nice surroundings.

but it won't be our last. Arrived early and we were the first, soon to be followed by several Portuguese families, which is always a good sign. We shared the garlic prawns to start which were delicious and were already peeled, which was a bonus as it can be very messy peeling garlic prawns! We both followed up with Sirloin steak, in the Portuguese style, which was tender and very tasty. It came with chips and also fresh, beautifully cooked vegetables which is unusual in Portugal. We shared a cheesecake for desert as we were getting full - that was delicious too, not sure if it was homemade, I should have asked. We had the house white wine, which was produced locally and was very good, especially for the price. At the end we were served a complimentary Ginja which was a nice touch - something that used to happen quite a lot in Portuguese restaurants but not so much now. The staff were knowledgeable, efficient and friendly and the atmosphere relaxed and comfortable. Definitely worth a visit.

I had the bife a Tasca which came with a salad fries and rice. The steak was done perfectly medium rare and was juicy and seasoned perfectly, as was everything else. No need for condiments here! Great meal, great service.

Have visited this restaurant a number of times over the years and made a special effort this time. It was a big mistake the restaurant was freezing cold and the welcome matched it. The proprietor was not present a d it was felt. The food was not up to expectations and my friend sent his back NO apology and full price charged. Now off our list.

We recently spent two weeks traveling across Portugal and we ate in a wide range of restaurants. Overall, my favorite meals were at Restaurante O Calderiao. We had dinner here twice while staying in Obidos. They serve traditional Portguese food at very reasonable price with their own spin on some of the standards. The dining room is casual and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and engaging and helped us through the menu. And, most of all, the food was very flavorful and expertly prepared. We've been coming here for 10 years when visiting parents living in the area, and it's always been a wonderful friendly family-run place to eat. Unfortunately it has always been difficult for vegetarians and that still hasn't changed, whilst the rest of Portugal has started to offer more choice.

Is is about 1 km outside the city wall of Obidos. We went there in June 2012 and had a fabulous meal and the owner was a very entertaining host with pretty good English. I want to get a review posted so others can share outr experience

Nice little restaurant in walking distance from Ãbidos. Very friendly service, typical local dishes, explanations from the owner (if you want) and menu alterations if you need - and all this at reasonable prices!

This restaurant turned out to be our favorite in all of Portugal. The food was fantastic and the owner super friendly and helpful with his suggestions and explanations of each plate. The atmosphere was cozy and fun - we left feeling like we had just had dinner with old friends. It is a small and popular spot so make sure to reserve ahead.

Very nice people and terrace, great for young kids, since they can play in the sand in front of the terrace. The coffee (cappuccino) came from a package, not fresh.. we didnât had food, so it might be good for everything else but cappuccino.Olá bom dia,Certamente alguma coisa correu mal.Quero convida-lá a voltar e mudar a sua opinião.Muito obrigado pela avaliação, só assim poderemos melhor para servir cada dia melhor.
