We enjoyed this restaurant. The food was creative and delicious. I was able to choose from several vegetarian options (other than the usual swiss cheese-based fare), and my husband enjoyed his pan-roasted beef. We especially enjoyed the interesting flavors of home-made ice cream. We were only disappointed they closed for Christmas and we couldn't go back the next day!

Food was ok, nothing spectacular, took like 20 mins to be prepared. Location is prety cool. View of the mountains is amazing from the terrace. Servise was ok, again nothing special.Take into account that i am visiting in summer, the atmosphere might change in winter.
We had both dinner and breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Our dinner was a group event for 25 people. Service was amazing. The food was very good.. Nice selection for breakfast choices

As the ski season had already ended, finding an open restaurant proved quite challenging! Luckily I discovered Restaurant Walser in Ulrichen, which is open all year round. We have all heard the saying "You never get a second chance to make a first impressionââ. Unfortunately the waiter behaved extremely cold and unwelcoming. I got the distinct feeling that he was doing me a favour in serving me! On the opposite, the tenants appeared later during the dinner and were very friendly. The dining room feels cozy and pleasant, with loads of vintage photos of Ulrichen. The menu is Swiss traditional with strong focus on local produce and suppliers. As starter the Valais air-dried meat tasted wonderful (however, I discovered that the waiter had served me the large portion, whereas I had ordered the small size!!). As main course I chose a typical Valais dish: ââCroûte au fromageââ - a slice of bread topped with grated cheese, cured ham, onions and fried egg. The whole is oven-baked and served piping hot: quite revigorating but definitely not for the health-conscious. As dessert I indulged myself with the house specialty ââSnowballââ - apricot sorbet, wrapped with vanilla ice and hazelnuts. Delicious portion! The bill reflected the usual Swiss price level. The food tasted actually very good, but the whole dining experience was definitely let down by the very unpleasant waiter. Please replace him asap!

We wanted to stay the night but were told that the following day was a holiday so they weren't taking overnight guests. We had coffee and snackes and explored everything available. We could hardly belive that so much had been built. Took the cable car across the reservoir to the mountain top opposite. Great value at CH Fr 6 each way.Shall return next year just to experience the spectacle. And not even expensive!

Last restaurant before you reach the old delapidate hotel at the bottom Of the Furka And Grimsel pass Valais side. Very busy and the staff managed to remain plaisant, the menu du jour Frs.24.50 was excellent value.

The first class Thai cuisine available in this hotel restaurant provides a welcome change from the traditional hearty Alpine fare available elsewhere. Try the delicious soup starters: highly recommended.

I came to Oberwald for a cycling holiday with two friends and quickly found that in the summer restaurants in Oberwald are limited and a little dated and expensive. However this restaurant opposite our hotel is modern , the food was charming mix of traditional and contemporary with the best prices in town and very delicious food. The food all arrived quickly , hot, delicious. The restaurant is run by a young lady that at first glance I presumed to be in her late teens but quickly found she was older than this and actually owned the restaurant. She and her staff are very efficient, attentive and discreet all at the same time. Be warned, this restaurant was full up every night so book the night before or miss out. Over 4 nights we only managed to get in twice. A great find and hope this restaurant does wellHello mikkyfab1Thank you for sharing your Feedback regarding your stay in our Restaurant. We were pleased to read you liked the food and that you were satisfied with everything. We would be pleased to welcome you again in the future (maybe for a "Raclette" :-) )Best regards,Angela & Al Ponte-Team

Lost in between 2 villages and right on the road which is not very appealing but very practical! Inside there is short menu, mostly meat and cheese and local delicacies, including fruits from the valley. The meat is superbly cooked in the fire and the overall quality is very good. Very welcoming service, prices a bit on the high side but still acceptable. Definitely a good spot for a break on the road.
