The service was excellent and equal to the food. When you ask for, and receive, medium-rare it us not a celebration, but expected. Here, everything is done that way.

Our family dined here a few nights ago and very much enjoyed ourselves. We started off with two orders of the Belgian Fries which were top notch and the horseradish mayo, garlic mayo, and red curry dipping sauces that came with were all great. We then moved onto the entrees. The star of the car was the Veal Jagerschnitzel - lightly breaded and fried it was tender and delicious. The Wurstplatter was good as well - we went for the bratwurst and the currywurst (wurst of the day). Most disappointing - but still not bad - was the Beef Stroganoff. It had good umami with lots of beef and mushroom flavor...but it didn't really taste like Stroganoff. I'm used to and enjoy the heat of paprika, tang of sour cream, and light bite of a bit of mustard...and their Stroganoff had none of these. Maybe it's a German thing. The sides were all tasty - we enjoyed the red cabbage, cucumber salad, potato pancake. I had a dark lager on tap and my wife enjoyed a light white wine. And the service was good though the decor and atmosphere didn't match the cuisine - it felt more like a burger bar or BBQ joint than a German restaurant. At base, we went away happily content but not ecstatic. The price was a little high for an informal dinner in Nyack...but the quality of the food is there.
