Reviews on European food in Nosy Be, Antsiranana Province, Madagascar. “Nosy Be?” Is that a typo for “Noisy Bee?” Nope. It means “big island” and it is just that; a large island off the northwest coast of Madagascar. Here you’ll find volcanic lakes, lazy lemurs, rum distilleries, Ylang Ylang plantations and intricate coral reefs that are practically begging to be explored. Flora and fauna lovers will be in seventh heaven at the beautiful Lokobe Nature Special Reserve. Audiophiles should visit in May, to experience the four-day Donia Music Festival.

You can have cocktails, lunch and dinner at our restaurant, entirely open on a terrace overlooking the bay, and surrounded by our freshwater pool: you can read while contemplating the ocean, try your hand at a Malagasy game , or log in - free - Wifi inter
The staff was attentive and spoke a fair amount of English - something we did not find everywhere on Nosy Be. Lovely view over bay, good white wine available and ice to keep it cold. We stayed in a villa close by and had a few meals here- the seafood obviously best, but I also had a traditional dish of chicken in a coconut and pineapple sauce which was delicious. Can recommend the restaurant - they also seem to keep the ever present swarms of flies away.

Visited Su e Giu during our stay in Diego, went there for dinner after reading the great reviews. The food was amazing, possibly the best meal we have had in Diego. I would definitely recommend trying Su e Giu but beware, the owners we extremely rude to us. Initially the owner didnât acknowledge us and we had to wait a long time when we had finished our food, even though there wasnât a lot of people there. She was actively shouting at her staff in front of all the customers and was clearly unhappy to be taking our order when all the other staff were busy. There was an extra charge on the bill for alcohol that we did not have, which we pointed out to the server. The owner was made aware of the error and rather than apologising, she decided to stare and point at our table whilst continuing to shout, as if we had done something wrong. We payed the final bill and left, only for the owner to bellow at us down the stairs because we had misinterpreted a number on the bill that looked to be another number. When I explained this, she completely ignored me with no apology or understanding. Despite the great food, the disgusting behaviour of the owners means that I would never come here again or recommend to those visiting Diego. Dear Customer good morning, we have received your review and first of all thank you very much for your appreciation on the quality of our food, secondly we apologize for the misunderstanding happened with your table. The reproaches you heard were addressed not to you but to the waitress who took the order and managed your table, creating,in this way,the error on your bill and putting tension / here is the order of the day /Thank you in advance for your understanding. We hope to see you again, wishing you a good holiday.THE DIRECTION

Stopped here for lunch after a gruelling Madagascar trip before booking into the Grand Hotel. The restaurant was empty on arrival but nicely laid out for lunch. The choices of food was very good with a decent Specials Board too. Had a very nice lunch that didnât break the bank on the veranda overlooking the sea and beach. The staff didnât speak much English but we managed. By the time weâd left it was quite busy so thatâs a good sign. The food was very nice and typical Malagasy. The place has a decent Wi-fi too which is not always the case here. We can definitely recommend this restaurant.

With our stay in Diego Suarez we found a lovely place where food is great, menu gives great options and prices are low.Pasta Amatriciana was unbelivably tasty and perfectly made! But not only: the atmosphere in La Cambusa is amazingly friendly and Fabio and Lea ( owners of the restaurant) are very friendly and super keen to help you with tips and info for touring around.I m looking forward to visiting the place again.A big thank you to Fabio and Lea

Restaurant beachfront sunset guaranteed sunshine before a good cocktail
Excellent location with great sea view - very nice to watch the fishermen getting back from sea , the locals arriving with their stuff to see - however , the service is really not attentive and the fruits are of poor quality.

Really nice work on the decoration- wooden artwork-baobab lighting etc. The kitchen is mostly French style waitresses are nice and the owner-cook welcoming but if you don't speak French you will have a big problem because there is no English menu and nobody speaks English so because of that the only choice we had was to get the burger that was the easy one to understand and it was great!!!super good burger but other than that we had to guess what the other things were and we chose a mid cooked pork that we don't eat anyways! Well I think if you are French you really have to visit this gourmet place but for no French speaking people you might end up eating the tongue of zebu of a snail or something that you won't know what that is ! P.s the double chocolate ice cream was really good too

This unique restaurant is on an island connecting two beaches in Andilana resort. At low tide it is easily accessed from the beach. The view is over the clear blue waters of Andilana beach. It is essential to make bookings from the desk next to the excursion centre of the resort . Prices are hefty and in euro but make for a very special meal!

We had lunch for two of the three days in this area and so enjoyed meeting Nono and eating at his wonderful restaurant. The food is freshly prepared, his burgers are awesome and his chicken satay is as good as any Bali restaurant. My fiance had the Chicken with mushroom sauce and chips which was excellent! The prices of this restaurant is much more affordable than other restaurants in the same road and offers excellent value for money. Nono also has South African wines and THB Beer at affordable prices and good quality! His waitresses are all wonderful and very eager to please with good english. All in all a wonderful experience not to be missed!!
