We found the menu choices in the early evening to be really excellent - something for every one's preference. The cheery, knowledgeable and efficient young girl who showed us to our table was friendly and professional. We chose the early evening menu for we had a young child with us and the kid's presents kept him busy and occupied for the whole meal. Our starters and main course were exactly just as we would have wished for and the creme caramel was the best I have ever had, anywhere. Altogether it was a highly successful and enjoyable experience and without doubt we will return 'tho we live some distance from Lewes.

What on earth has happened to this once great pub? It has become seedy, dirty and thoroughly unpleasant. Avoid. Hi there!Thank you for your review, you're right, the pub was once great but unfortunately fell into a state of disrepair under the previous management. It's difficult to see a once great place fall upon such hard times but as the new business owners we are doing everything in our power to turn it back around! We have a very large refurbishment due to occur shortly, changes are coming! We please ask all our patrons to bear with us at this time, we are aware the decorations aren't pretty, the carpet is worn and things don't work but EVERYTHING is changing! New tables, new chairs, new toilets, the full works! We hope you return and give us a second chance. Thanks, Faye & Shane! :)

Considered by many to be Brighton's best restaurant, backed up by its status in the Good Food Guide, The Restaurant at Drakes is an elegantly stylish setting for any occasion. Subtle lighting casts moody shadows across exposed brickwork and rich colours t
Was recommended by our hotel. We were frankly surprised at how great this food was...on a par with any high end Washington DC restaurant. Perfection from the bread to the watercress soup to the lamb main course and soufflé dessert. Who says English food sucks? Not me!

Coffee Shop with traditional and homemade Italian food
If you are going to have two businesses, set up new accounts. Seems easy to hide behind one. Delicatessen may be doing well but their restaurant is flailing. Booking system poor. Menu too large. One waitress on, doing her best, but not sufficient. Our food was ok but nothing special. While we were in the restaurant we witnessed other diners sending their dishes back to the kitchen. No music, bland atmosphere. won't be returning.

Situated within our Sussex Heritage award-winning winery, with panoramic views of the vineyard and the beautiful South Downs, you can drop in to taste and purchase our Sussex Sparkling, Sussex still wines and Seven Sisters spirits. Led by chef Chris Baile
We went here for a mid-week lunch to celebrate our anniversary on a scorching hot September day. The drive through the estate/vineyard was jaw-droppingly beautiful, with views of the sea, fields of sunflowers and, of course, the vines, all just a month away from harvest. The restaurant didn't disappoint. A charming, welcoming, highly professional team served up a great four course lunch of locally sourced produce, including the estate's excellent wines and sparkling wines. The restaurant overlooked the vineyard and we concluded our meal with cheese and coffee in the sunshine out on the terrace. Our only regret was not doing a tour of the vineyard before we ate.

I have been to the Wingrove several times in the evening and have always found the food to be very good.Unfortunately the lunchtime menu was not only strange it lacked imagination and was quite bland.Frankly,I know the Wingrove is better than this and it would be a disservice to not bring to their attention. The upside is that the staff are polite and the restaurant and gardens relaxing and well laid out.The toilets are now beginning to look tired and the dark tiles and Bristan taps, ubiquitous 15 to 20 years ago hint that fresh eyes are needed to keep the very good reputation the restaurant has.

The Grumpy Chef, Seaford is a Bistro run and owned by Anthony Masters and his family. Anthony has worked as a chef for many years and is now using his experiences in the trade to make fresh dishes for the locals of Seaford and any visitors who happen upon
We visited The Grumpy Chef following the recommendation of our host in Seaford. The atmosphere was buzzing on Saturday evening with the place nearly full, but service coped beautifully and was friendly and efficient. The menu is varied and interesting with plenty on offer for vegetarians, tempting salads, seafood, pasta dishes, steaks and much more. I was bowled over (pun intended) by my roasted tomato soup and the mussles were lovely (perhaps a tad too much cream). We also loved the aubergine salad and the wild mushroom arancini. Overall a perfect meal at a fraction of the price we would have paid in London for such quality food (and drinks have a very reasonable price tag too). Very Highly Recommended!

You need to book. Lovely atmosphere very friendly, polite and kind staff. Good fresh food. Great selection and good specials board. Small cosy restaurant. Good value. Only criticism is that some of the portion sizes are on the small side compared to other Italians.
