Reviews on European food in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. With a little bit of this and a little bit of that all mixed together with flair and panache, beautifully vibrant New Orleans has made the most of marks left by whomever was calling the shots during whatever era over the past few centuries. Hardly a hodgepodge, the result of such a distinctive blend of cultures is an enchanting cityscape, a set of unique traditions that continuously delight the world, and a jaunty way of living that must be experienced to be appreciated.

St. James is a meat and cheese market in Uptown that offers sandwiches, cheese plates, salads, and other light dishes. Their cheese selection is outstanding, even for New Orleans. You can either select your cheeses and meats or allow the employees to craft a plate for you. They have porch seating, interior seating, and an outdoor courtyard, offering a variety of atmospheres and experiences depending on the weather. The cheese plates can be a bit expensive for just one person. In my opinion, the best thing to do here is to come with three or four other people and all share a big cheese plate and a bottle of wine before a bigger dinner. It is very reasonably priced for this.

We live nearby and stopped by three other places that had lines a mile long, before remembering this place (it's a little obscure at the moment because of nearby construction).Got seated quickly, good service (thank you, Maureen!), nice selection (breakfast and everything is available all the time) and good food at a good price.I had the crab cakes egg Benedict ($14) and it was delicious and lots of food! Wifey had the southern breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns (huge plate!) and grits (about the same price) and also a lot of good food. My wife is a grits expert and very particular about them and she said these were great. Clean bathrooms and nice atmosphere. They also have outside seating and great coffee (always a plus!).Will definitely return again!
