Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality of Nea Propontida, before which it was a municipality with its seat in the town Nea Kallikrateia. The municipal unit has an area of 108.894 km. According to the census of 2011, it has a population of 11,571 people. Nea Kallikrateia was established after the refugee crisis in 1922, mainly by the residents who came from Kallikrateia in Eastern Thrace and set up in the area, where the metohi of the Xenofontos Monastery of Mount Athos existed and it was called “Stomion”. Many testimonies report that it was inhabited by the prehistoric years; however, they are not confirmed.

This place deserves the No.1 rating!! Fantastic food recommended by Stelios (the owner - who also speaks English und auch Deutsch!!) which included the Rocket salad, Keftedes, grilled Chicken off the bone, squid and Bouyourdi.The free dessert (Visino - Cherry with yoghurt) was a nice touch.

We were two times in this restaurant and everything was just perfect. The service is more than friendly and the place is very clean (they change the covers after every clients). The best food is made there and for very reasonable prices - the best tzatziki and grilled octopus!!! The deserts are really good too. They give us a free dog food so we can feed the amazing dog in front of the restaurant - it was really nice if them! Thank you for the delicious food and for worm atmosphere!

Our first evening back in Greece and we all wanted authentic gyros. We weren't disappointed, very friendly and accommodating staff and good food. More a snack bar than a restaurant but after a 6am flight it was just what we wanted.

We went to this place with no special expectations, but what we received did really surprice us in a good way. The restaurant has a huge garden where chuldren can have fun, while they wait for a meal. The food was delicious and the portions were really biiig. Itâs really worth a try.
