We were staying one night in St Nectaire and walked up from our hotel to this little pizzeria just opposite the Casino on a quiet Saturday night in September. The welcome was warm and the service good. I had a beautiful thin crust pizza whilst MOH has Saumon Taglietelli which was very good. We had aperos, demi-litre of red wine and followed up with coffee - total bill was 33⬠- excellent value!

We wanted to have dinner here one evening as we left Brittany and were already 'crepe sick'. Well, the woman we asked a table first discouraged us warning we would have to wait a lot for being served, then, since we were prepared and wanted our crepe dinner at any cost, she offered a very bad table as it was the only one prepared for two. We noticed there were several window tables available and ask to be seated there. Well, she first remarked the table for two was the one we were assigned and then said we could seat where the hell we wanted. Enough is enough. We left. We had a nice dinner a few steps ahead at Le baladins.

Whilst staying in Super Besse for skiing, we made the trip down to the village of Besse on several occasions to dine. The Oustaou was our favourite. Good local specialities, very friendly and acommodating to families. No frills, but good, clean, friendly and tasty food.

La brasserie Le 50 allie une multitude de plaisirs. Vous vous régalerez des mets concoctés par notre chef tout en admirant une vue imprenable sur un paysage à vous donner de l'appétit.
Weâve eaten here a few times as weâre based in le pre bas campsite and itâs 2 mins from our doorstep. There are a few different offerings- the one we enjoyed was the regional cuisine and it was delicious, hams and cheesy potatoes what more can you ask for? Service is excellent and the staff make every effort to help with any language barriers. Beautiful view from the restaurant overlooking Lac Chambon and an open air section for the warmer evenings.Hi @KatW, Quel bonheur de lire une si belle appréciation de notre brasserie Le 50 ! Au Montagnard is a warm and friendly restaurant. You cross a bubbling stream to access the restaurant and the tables by the windows have a lovely outlook over Murol and its chateau. The interior is nicely set with local paintings and skis on the walls, nice candle holders and had stoneware placemats. More importantly the meals were good. For entrée we had St Jacques scallops with legumes and beef tail but thankfully it was not a slab of a cows tails, rather shredded beef in pastry and was delicious. For mains we had salmon mousse with vegies and roasted potatoes and the coq au vin in a rich sauce with vegies. The only drawback was that the lady serving the tables was by herself and being a full lunchtime crowd was a little run off her feet. However the lovely setting meant that you did not mind spending some time there. For a small village this was an excellent restaurant.

Understandably popular restaurant in the lower part of the town just below the tourist office. It has outside seating way from the road under the trees. The extensive menu offers a wide variety of dishes to suit most tastes and appetites. Many are variations on regional dishes but offer a welcome change from the standard fare offered by many local restaurants. Smaller portions are available for some dishes. The food was of a high standard and the ice cream desserts are appealingly enormous. Service was generally friendly & efficient and on a busy Sunday lunch time even the very young daughters of the owners were lending a hand. Overall well worth a visit. There is a related food shop opposite which sells a range of regional produce.

Having read the excellent reviews we spent 3 days trying to find the place and only succeeded after finally asking another local resturant where it was. The location is situated on Murol beach of the lovely Lake Chandon. Unfortunately whilst the fayre is okay it really doesn't do justice to the superb location, the staff are friendly and the wine we ordered was very nice however the menu selection is small and there are no starters available which makes the small portions of the main course seem even smaller and consequently, even allowing for the excellent location, a little pricey too. It may well be that this place is perfect for lunch on a summers day but fails to deliver fully on its potential when it comes to dinner and that really is a shame because the view across the lake is worthy of so much more.

We were locally staying at Sunelia La Ribeyre and came into Murol most days. We ate here on two occasions and enjoyed ourselves both times. On the weekend this is a very busy restaurant, but we were still served quickly and efficiently. There's plenty of choice on the menu, and the children easily found things to eat that they enjoyed, it isn't all pizza either.Desserts were lovely and enjoyed by all! Definitely worth a visit if you're staying in the area. Don't be put off if it's really busy, this restaurant enjoys a very central location in the village and is therefore popular.

Celebrated our son's 9th birthday at the resturant. Friendly and welcoming staff, good service and excellent food. Our waiter advised us that we had ordered too much food and assisted us in paring down our selection, he was right as we only just managed to finish the revised order. We had the stuffed peppers and frio grais de maison to start, followed by the truffade, rib of beef, steak and pork rib all excellent and fairly priced. Although we didn't order the tripe with lentils it looked very tasty too.Thank you for sharing your getaway to Crossbow Murolsee you soonThe entire team of Crossbow
