What a lovely little place. In order to break up our day doing the sights around Montrose we visited the Pavilion Cafe. We fancied some proper food, not the standard fair as found in some of the other local outlets, my goodness, we were not disappointed; a chicken, bacon and avocado sandwich, 2 omelettes, a potatoes soup and a Panzanella salad. All of this was delicious homemade food. The setting is also very nice; an old, well kept/restored pavilion turned into a cafe (hence the name, I guess), on a bowling green in a leafy area of town. It seats around 20 with a few picnic tables outside. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the high street and at the time of our visit there was ample parking. So, if you want proper home made food in a quiet area of town with a lovely atmosphere, come here. So happy with your lovely review, thank you so much for taking time to post.Reviews like yours really help my little independent café in a difficult market.

On the recommendation of my other half who said itâs the best curry in the town, I thought Iâd better try it for myself. He was most definitely correct! Best curry in town by far! Will definitely be back. Excellent friendly service too. Well done Manha!

This restaurant is located inside the Park Hotel. I was staying st the hotel who requested that I book a table as sometimes it can be very busy, which I did. Scallops to start were too chewy, but I wasn't charged when I mentioned it. The chicken was excellent and in generous potions. Good selection of drinks from the bar. Nice friendly staff - good wifi and comfortable seating.Would fine here again if in the area.

We visited Gordon's Restaurant and Hotel in 2014 and gave it a five-star review then and we are very pleased to be able to do the same five years' later. The cooking is sublime, incredibly good value (certainly compared to London prices), and the service is friendly and timely. Each course was perfect in quality, quantity and execution (although a little bit more carrot puree with the lamb might not have gone wrong!).We stayed in the Thistle room, and although Gordon's is really about the food, the room was very well decorated, comfortable and had plenty of space. Better WiFi would have been appreciated but the weather was appalling which might have resulted in poorer service than normal.All in all, thoroughly recommended and restored my faith in the term "fine dining".
