Ja visitei varias vezes e continuo a pensar voltar.

This patisserie was the place to be if you have a baby or one on the way when we were there - very popular with local ladies and deservedly so. The service was spot on, the Portuguese custard tarts mouth-watering and it was buzzing. It also sells take-away cakes that looked magnificent.

Before going, we read the good reviews and trust them. Friendly welcome and at the end we were satisfied for the good food and wine. Since we expected to eat the large portions they usually use to serve, we kindly asked if we could take away what it remained. The answer of the owner: sorry but in this place Clients eat everything they order. Yes, but we paid for it! The true: they are not organized for take away food. What a pity! Other restaurants in Montalegre did it without any kind of problems.

With limited options in the area, this restaurant is according to locals one of the better options. Check the size of the meal, one portion most likely will serve two. Local prices.

The legend tells that the bridge was cursed by the Devil. Everyday that it was built, it was immediately destroyed the day after. The curse was broken by a priest who blessed a loaf of bread, throwing it across the bridge. The bridge remained bent forever

I stayed at this hotel, and in the evening, there are very little walking distance options for a meal. Therefore, my family and I came to this restaurant for a decent meal.I will say that the restaurant is nicely decorated, and a pleasant place for a meal, that is a fact. The place is spotless, bright and modern. But, why do we come to the restaurant?... for the FOOD.That is where we go wrong. My wife and I ordered the steak, and my daughter ordered the cod-fish (bacalhau). Sadly, the quality received was poor.First the steak was tough, dry, bland… and simply tasteless. A true disappointment. Yet… worse was the cod-fish ordered by my daughter. Nicely presented… that is a fact, but smelled terrible. When cod-fish smells like that, it indicates that it has been frozen for too long and refrozen. This burns the fish, and when you defrost it quickly (to prepare a meal) then this happens. It smells rotton. It was so bad, that we sent it back, and ordered the steak in exchange. Same as what my wife and I received.Wine was good, and desert was a blessing.Price is on the higher side of the scale, and for the quality received – it was such a huge disappointment, I cannot put in words what I think. Just poor for a restaurant with so much potential… with such a perfect view over the valley.Management – PLEASE get this right!!!

I start by saying that motosports are not my game.... My father in law loves it, and he mentioned that at Montalegre there was a Rallycross championship only for the weekend and it was fun to watch. So I thought... "hhmmmm... maybe this is a only an excuse to go out for the weekend!!! " and so we did, we booked a room in a hotel nearby and so we went to Montalegre. Arrived at the Circuit at about 14 hrs,and then we went for some sight seeing in the village (deserted I should say). Lovely! Fantastic! what a place to visit! we went back to the circuit. At dinner time the question raised.... where to eat??? well a friend of my father in law's said he knew two or three restaurants we could try... all closed!!!! Then we decided to insert in the GPS "restaurants"... what was the first option??? "the Taberna Ti Ana da Eira" ... we called immediately to book the table and luckly the cook waited for us!!! when we arrived we were quickly addressed to a table already set for us. We asked for recommendations and we were dazzled!! home cook, tasty, wonderful!!! the wine was perfect, the desserts were to die for!!!please give it a try!! Visit Montealegre!!!

After lots of curvy mountains roads driving from Spain into Portugal, we were ready for a good meal. The portion was very large and well enough for the two of us. We had some fish that were very lightly breaded along with a salad of greens and tomatoes. We paid 14 euros, which we thought was a bargain.Thanks.
