Chose the See Restaurant for its stunning views of the lake - lovely terrace directly on the lake adjacent to the boat-docking. Food very acceptable without being sensational but I really did enjoy the Zander (pike-perch) filet served with roasted vegetables and potatoes. Very succulent pieces of bright white filet (no bones at all) cooked to perfection. Very hot day so being able to relax and take time over lunch with the fantastic views made for a very pleasant couple of hours.

The food was not tasty, very simple minestrone soup, the pizza is not cut into pieces, the king prawns are too much salted. The rudeness of the lady waitress was off the charts. On the request to bring the forks to the dishes that are filed, responded rudely. extremely unpleasant impression of the restaurant and the mood was also spoiled!

Better than average traditional meals (goulash soup; tafelspitz). We are accustomed to slower-than-American service in this part of the world, but Restaurant Krone set a new standard for inattention. Everything took much longer than usual...from receipt of menus, to beverages and food, and -- in particular -- the check. It wasn't a terribly busy evening, they just seemed not to care much.

This small restaurant with a tiny kitchen, nonetheless turns out consistently good innovative dishes. This not a typical Austrian schnitzel cuisine, but specialises in Spanish tapas, good lake fish and excellent steak tartar. On all the occasions that we have visited this restaurant we have never been disappointed with the food. The service lacks a friendly approach, but nonetheless is efficient. The prices are reasonable and overall this is a good safe good value restaurant where one doesn't have to wait and wait for meals to arrive. I doubt you will be disappointed and the fact that we frequently return, speaks for itself

Holzingerbauer is a restaurant that only serves jause but it is absolutely fantastic. Everything is fresh and homemade, including the bread. By nice weather the garden is a great place to sit but inside is also very comfortable in the traditional Austrian interior. This place is always busy on the days they are open (Mo, Tue, Thu and Fri only) so make a reservation if you can. You can also come a bit later, after 8, and most of the time they will find a spot for you. A typical Austrian experience, not to be missed!

Each morning for breakfast we sat outdoors. I had a view of Lake Mondsee from my seat looking through the tree-lined street. The breakfast included salmon, meats and cheeses, eggs cooked to order, yogurts and cereal with all the trimmings, goat cheese, spreads, juices, lots of freshly baked breads and the most wonderful coffee and tea. It is the best European breakfast I have experienced in my years of travel. Martina took very good care of us each morning. All of the servers were gracious and patient. Very enjoyable beginning to each day.

This restaurant is tucked away near / in the castle. Parking is available right in front of the hotel. Outdoor seating area is very peaceful in the courtyard. The service was great. Loved the schnitzel and boiled potatoes and french fries. Also comes with a fresh side salad with good dressing. The melange coffee was also really fantastic. Definitely recommend this place!!

very good kitchen, top-range, they have their own dry-aged beef and very good wines, directly located at the lake

We have visited this restaurant on a couple of occasions and all I can say is the food is incredible, traditional Austrian food and very reasonably priced too. It has a very unique and welcoming atmosphere, so much so we are due to go a 3rd time before we leave and we will definitely visit next time when we return.

Charming, traditional gasthof; a bit south of the town of Mondsee, a bit back from the Lake. Very professional, yet friendly, service. Our selections were all delicious: soup starters (a garlic-cream; and the "pancake" soup (pfannkuchensuppe?)); 2 mains with risotto, 1 fish; 1 chicken breast. With wine and dessert, cost was around E60; a good value for the quality.
