Spanish tavern with a concept of Atlantic cuisine in the heart of the old town of Vigo.
I was very impressed with this restaurant. It is cosy, yet modern enough to appeal to younger people also. The waitress, who spoke excellent English, was one of the nicest waitresses I have met in a long time. She took time to speak with me and recommend special dishes and was able to answer questions about them. I like this aspect of having special dishes of the day which are not on the main menu and appreciated she took the time to tell me about them as I imagine not as many tourists would go for them. I certainly did though and was delighted with it.For starters, I went for octopus, coated in a local special cheese. I'd never eaten octopus before (which the waitress found incredible!) and was somewhat apprehensive. I need not have been though, the combination of the cheese with the breadcrumbs, and the octopus itself was perfect. My main dish was a special dish of the day. It was a beef dish. The only other thing I remember about it was that it came with wild strawberries or a sauce based on that. I certainly found it interesting and unique enough to try and was pleased that I did. It was beautiful tasting, the beef was soft and tender and it was well presented.Dessert was great too and I had the special Cruzcampo beer, which is from Seville (I was happy enough with it as on my many previous trips to Seville I had never had a Cruzcampo!).The service was impeccable and the waitress deserves much credit for being very approachable and knowledgeable about the dishes from the kitchen. An excellent restaurant, well worth a visit.

The room is nice and I was really impressed with the menu but very quickly my impressions started falling. The smell of deep frying and food was intense in the room. Unfortunately the cooking was not good in our opinion. The cooking point of my lamb wasn't reached and the seasoning was awful; excessive oil and grease on the food. With this menu and this room they should be ,more careful with the kitchen. The price was 70⬠for a lunch.First of all thank you very much for coming to Hierba Luisa. We understand what you say about the size of our restaurant: we are young people in a small city trying to create a great place to eat. The room is not big but we try to make it the nice and lovely that we can. The cooker, Alberte Gutierrez, has estudied in the Hofmann Scholl in Barcelona, one of the most respectfull places in Europe. Moreover, he has worked in some of the most important restaurans in Spain: Can Fabes in Barcelona, Casa Solla in Pontevedra and MartÃn Berasategui in Donosti. Although he is a young cooker he is experienced and he really apreciate your opinion about the "Espaldita de cabrito". Words like yours give us a new perspective in our job: we are really compromised to give the best food and service to our customers using the best products of the fresh market here in Galicia. We would really apreciate if you came back to Hierba Luisa in order to enjoy another dish of our menu selection, maybe some soft food, or we could talk and decide together what to taste. See you soon here in Vigo.

Loved the avocado dish and the recommended bottle of wine matched all the food very nicely. Reasonably priced and great customer service. Waiter explained the menu and had chats with us about the dishes through out the dinner. We got a table without reservation around 7.30 pm but shortly after, all the tables were occupied.

Cocinamos recuerdos. Fusionamos el mejor producto gallego y mediterráneo con los mejores, y a veces exóticos, sabores foráneos.
I arrived at Mijo tired and hungry but with a delicate stomach. Jonathan suggested their salad with San Simón cheese and hummus to follow. Both were delicious and so now feeling emboldened and somewhat brighter (the alcohol helped...I wasn't that ill), although it was a difficult choice after hearing Loreto's descriptions I tried their Lemon Pie del revés. Can I get an amen? I was in lemon heaven...just wished it had been ten times bigger as it was delicious with a capital D! So happy was I that I returned the next night. Friday night, place packed, no problem, I sat at the bar. Both Jonathan and Loreto took time to chat to me even though they were busy, a nice touch when you're travelling alone. I went with Jonathan's recommendations of Salmon mi cuit. Delicious dice-sized pieces of salmon that melted in the mouth accompanied with small pearls of wasabi, a great favourite of mine. To follow I had carrilleras de cerdo, puré trufado y salsa oporto. As it melted in my mouth I practically melted to the floor with pleasure. I tore myself away from their own version of Tiramisu (something for when I return) to try the Pot de Crème...advertised as "el mejor postre del mundo"...no arguments from me there. It was EVERYTHING my taste buds crave in a dessert, and they invited me to a glass of dessert wine to help it slip down. Gracias chicos! Watching Jonathan make cocktails, I was mesmerised by the idea of an expresso martini. It proved to be the perfect way to end one of my favourite dining experiences EVER! These are young people, both front of house and in the kitchen who obviously love food and are passionate about making your time with them comfortable and enjoyable, while cooking amazing food and presenting it exquisitely. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Un abrazo muy fuerte para Jonathan, Loreto y su equipo. NoS vemos cuando vuelva a Vigo.Dear Tony! We, the whole team of MIJO minibar, are very gratefull that you took such a long time to describe with so much detail you experience at our restaurant. This appeared to be one of the better restaurants that are in, or on the fringe of Constitution Square and did a good job of Padrons and Iberico Pork and spuds.. Service was without a smile but that is the way. An enjoyable spot to watch the crowds partying.Do not expect style or innovation but the food was good quality at a reasonable price.

We always wanted to have lunch here during this visit as we had fantastic fish dishes here before! We had no reservation, but the patron was super helpful as he allowed us to use a late booked table. We were hungry so time was on our side :-))Fantastic food and wine at very reasonable prices. The service was excellent and our waitress taught us some Spanish as well!!

Organic restaurant. All our dishes are cooked without gluten. We have healthy food options for all tastes. Variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes. The menu also includes meat and fish dishes. Menu of the day from Monday to Friday.
Absolute gem on the sea walk in Vigo. This little family run place is delightful and the folks here are so wonderful and kind. The food is absolutely perfect and made with mindfulness. If you are looking for a delicious, yet filling and healthy lunch, this is the place. They cater for everyone and, considering how hard finding wholesome plant based and gluten free food is in southern Europe, Vigo really wins with this little restaurant. I had an aubergine roll and lentils curry which were delicious. I also had a fantastic and refreshing lemonade and although I thought dessert was a push,I actually shared with my friend and loved both vegan choices of rice pudding and orange "cheese" cake. I feel like I can take on the world now and so excited to have found this place which I will 100% come back to. It is not exclusively vegan but offers amazing vegan choices and everything is free from pesticides, hormones and added junk! The atmosphere is so pleasant with a simple and clean decor which still allows you to feel cosy and welcome. Sitting by the window looking at the sea is def a plus! Cannot wait to come back!Muchas gracias ChantNos alegra mucho que tuvierais tan buena experiencia con nosotros y que nos recomiendes. Estaremos encantados en volver atenderos en vuestra próxima visita a Vigo.Un salud.oEcoSlowfood sabe mejor

We tried the complete tasting menu and it was really good. A great attention to the raw materials and flavour matching. The price is definitely affordable considering the quality of food and service and the Michelin star!

We went for a late night dinner of tapas and a atlas of wine and the food was truly excellent. The tortilla and mussels were particularly noteworthy. The wine service was excellent and the wine list one of the most complete I've seen in the area. Last but not least the tab was surprisingly low for the amount of food, and more importantly quality of food, that we enjoyed. I highly recommend this restaurant!
