It was very quiet when we ate here but it seemed decent and accordingly the food was actually pretty good â it came faster than is normally a good sign, but all the dishes were of a good quality. The atmosphere in the place was hard to judge with only a few other couples in there, but it was a nicely laid out interior. Service was efficient but oddly distant â I think the quietness caused this, but they did also have people watching videos on their phones at the table, not at high volume but it was a bit odd. I would return for the good quality of the food and reasonable price, but maybe would look for a busier night next time.

My wife and I had a good dinner, my dish had 3 kinds of different meats (honestly: it was too much), my wife chose for the medallions of calf, and the salade buffet, with great and tasteful variation, was included in the price. The service was quick, clever and friendly. It was crowded, also with families, due to the fact, I suppose, that they serve also different children's menus.

First: you need to reserve a table or to be there early (17:30) to get a table. Once you have a place then you can enjoy very delicious and traditional food with modern touch. We ordered "Reibekuchen" with cream and bacon, another which chicken and mushroom souce. A Mediterranean burger, steak (perfect backed) and chicken nuggets for the little one finish the list. Everything was perfect.

Checked in without a reservation. After a 5-minute wait, we got a table. The restaurant was packed and the two waiters were very active and efficient. We ordered some starters followed by a main course. Quality of the food was very decent and portions relatively big. Drinks are also very reasonably priced. Interior is somewhat old-fashioned, but compensated for by the atmosphere. One of the better dining places in Winterberg.

Restaurant "Zum Kanapee" is a small cosy restaurant, part of the hotel "Zur Alten Post", but in a separate building (see picture). The restaurant has the feeling of a large living room with an open kitchen. Over this living room presides a woman, who could easily play the part of cook in a classic movie about a wealthy family. This woman does everything, being chef, cleaning and setting tables, serving food and settle the bill in an unhurried, efficient pace. The schnitzels are well cooked, the beer is cold and the prices are moderate, the more when you take into account the visit to the excellent salad bar, that is included in the price. To find "Zum Kanapee": The entrance is on the side street from the main road through Willingen, leading to the large car park area, under the huge viaduct. The picture attached is taken on this side street with my back to the viaduct.

We had a Family reunion in this Restaurant.Staff was very friendly and attentive.Food was really good, good portions,good taste.The asparagus with butter and potatoes is delicious,the âBrauhauspfanneâis a big portion with meat and sausage and very delicious.They have a salad bar and the desserts were just great .I can recommend the strawberry tiramisu.
