We had two excellent meals here and in May and decided we must go back, so here we are.Very busy Restaurant on the Square in Xaghra.Shown our booked table immediately on arrival . Menus and wine list presented quickly. Ordered aâ specialâ pork belly with crispy skin and sea bass stuffed with prawns. As a surprise we were given a small cup,of onion and potato soup, and accessories while waiting for main. Sea bass was excellent as was the pork belly that I had. Itâs unusual these days for it to be served with crackling skin. Good vegetables including roast potatoes. Good wine list to choose from including local beers and local wine.Excellent sweet menu. Staff and management very attentive throughout. Once again I must add that you must book in advance at these top rated Restaurants. People do get turned away.Would thoroughly recommend this Restaurant. Not expensive for the quality of food served.Ps. We have already booked to return this week

Reserved a table today at Gabbiano because of its really superb location, a bit off the tourist path of the bay. Positive to mention that they provided mosquito repellent because we had quite a lot of them. However, then the bad started. The starters were really awful, especially the fish cakes that they mentioned as specials. They were so chewy and full of frying oil and tasted like absolutely nothing so that we finally threw it into the sea so that at least someone enjoyed it. The red wine was served chilled, nothing more to mention. No recommendation at all.

We visited for dinner... A lot of points to make. Food was by far below average... Pizza bland, pasta bolognese overcooked and no particular taste to it, calamari fritti were probably the biggest let down for a fish place... Soft, chewy and not tasty. The worst of all.... The wine.... Red wine menu, clearly stating McGuigan Black Label Shiraz Hunter Valley, however the bottle shown in the photo was actually brought...'South Eastern Australia'. Very distasteful to claim to provide a bottle from a viticulture background such as Hunter Valley and then bring a South Eastern Australian downgrade.. Dear Customer,we are very sorry of reading this review. I have been working at Piùtrentanove for 10 years, as owner and as cook at the same time, and since I prepared by myself the dishes you mentioned, I can answer to all your points. I can state, with no doubt, that the pasta was not overcooked (but "al dente" in perfect italian style) and the "ragù" (bolognese sauce) is one of our "forte", I prepare it with my grandma's recipe, a tuscan one that is a guarantee of taste. People usually come back for it and for sure they come back for my pizza: everyday I prepare the fresh dough and I use high-quality products, I am sorry if you didn't like it and found it bland, I invite you to come and try it again and maybe you'll change your opinion. About the calamari, I can simply reply that I buy them from a well-known fish shop that sell the best fish in the island and in these last weeks many customers gave their compliments on my "frittura di calamari". Lastly, I didn't understand exactly what happened with the wine, but we have no pictures of any bottle, so i don't understand what you are talking about...We have a large selection of wines and detailed description of them. Anyway, I suggest, for next time, to inform the waiters if you find something wrong with your food, it will be our pleasure to verify if the pasta is overcooked ot the calamari chewy, and we'll see to having them prepared again for you.Best RegardsFilippoOwner and cook at Piùtrentanove

Welcome was good. Shared a starter of Cold cuts platter which was Proscuitto, Salami, 3 different cheeses, cherry tomatoes, Sundried tomatoes and crackers. Main for me was Chicken Al a Chef which was lovely in sauce, vegatables and roast potatoes, portion was huge and there was a lot of waste but they did ask if i wanted to take it home with me. John had Sea Bream which was one of the daily fish specials with a Caper sauce. He said it was the best he ever had.I had a half bottle of wine and he had a full red. Meal cost about 75 Euro. Good meal will be back on our next visit.

Mediterranean/Grill with spectacular sea views, al fresco or indoors - during summer, part of the area is converted into a lido with deckchairs and cocktail bar. During the winters we also serve al fresco but we also have indoor availability. We specializ

We had really good fresh fresh fish for main course and a delicious starter of mixed fish. The tables closes to the sea are the best with a nice view and the service is also really good and personable. Staff go the extra mile to be really pleasant and professional. I was heavily pregnant and one of the staff wished me all the best before i left which was so lovely. One thing I will say is that they need some proper desert wines on their wine list or dessert list and also the date and ice cream dessert needs improving. Our fried pastry date cakes were burnt and dry but ice cream very good. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

Nice location, friendly staff but when it comes to food... it is a unique experience. Pity could not try all the dishes at one go. It's a must for food lovers to visit.

We ordered as a starter the formaggio gozitano and it was a fenomenal experience. Then, we ate the seafood and gozitano pizza and they both were great. The seafood is really well served. Even though we had to wait a bit longer we were expecting (because it is a very frequented spot), the food has supperated everything. Have a good meal. :)

Olive Bistro is a small family run restaurant thriving in offering good quality food and service to our Patrons.Whilst Olive is a Mediterranean fruit, we do not restrict ourselves to cooking only this particular cuisine. We look forward to welcoming you!
This is a three month old restaurant run by a Maltese chef who trained in the UK.The food is amazing. Attention to detail is there with every ingredient used and all freshly cooked.A great experience and perfect Eva to our holiday. The crab risotto was sweet and delicate. Highly recommended.
