Having had a poor experience in our hotel restaurant and night before, and having read some of the reviews of Recordo we decided to give it try for dinner - and loved it. It is a small, modern establishment with the look of a local cafe about it. It does not go in for the more formal meals, but instead offers tapas type dishes, sandwiches etc. We did not really understand the menu so put ourselves in the hands of the waiter who was on of the co-owners. At his suggestion we started with a wonderful homemade soup, followed by a "tabua" which was akin to an Italian antipasta - a slate tile with local ham, sausage, and big hunks of wonderful local cheese. This was followed by a hamburger which was just a taste sensation. There is a long wine list, with prices going up to â¬30 a bottle, but we took the waiters suggestion of a bottle of the house red produced in the village for â¬5(!!!) which was very drinkable. The atmosphere in the place was great, and all the food was wonderful. Our total bill, including drinks and coffee came to less than â¬30 for the 2 of us. We left feeling, full and happy having had a great evening. We were so happy we went back the next evening for just something light to eat which was just as good.We understand the place has not been open very long. The food was perfect as always. We good there at 19:15 to secure a table on a friday night. We had the Nacos de Vitela and the Feijoada de Polvo, both were very very good! It is always a place to stop when in Viseu.

The meals are cheaper than any other restaurant that i know (and i know a lot). The food was so so tasty, it wasnt a big plate but it was enough. U can even eat two dishes and still pay less than u would pay at any other restaurant for just a meal. I absolutely reccomend this place if you want to get satisfied and pay realy realy cheap for your meals.

It's a very attended restaurant, mainly for takeaway, chicken and pizzas. But there´s also a few table.I tried the chicken and some grilled squids, in fact the food was ok regarding quality of the ingredients, but the seasoning i didn't like, either the barbecued chicken or the squids had a vinegar flavour. Definitely not normal in both!Also the room is very narrow, and very noisy.In fact wasn't a pleasant meal! I decided to not return there.

This is a simple restaurant, nothing posh in here. The key is the good food, real traditional dishes very well cooked with very quality ingredients, served on large portions.PROS- Food quality: great food, well cooked using quality ingredients. The menu changes everyday.- Located in the city center, there´s a free car park just across the road.CONS- nothing in particular, in 3 days staying in the city I had all my meals here except two. And the 2 others places I tried were far bad comparing to this restaurant.DO I WILL RETURN?- If back in Mangualde, for sure I will.PRICE:- average meal with drinks and dessert per person is around 10â¬. But it is possible to reduce the price with a careful choice from the menu.

We enjoyed a great lunch with great service, while visiting Mangualde and Penalva Do Castelo.Easily accessable near highways. Beautiful establishment, with excellent decor, table placement and plenty of parking.A must visit for anyone in the area.
