The town is so so as is this establishment. Setting in square pleasant on nice evening and seems pretty dependent on locals although really nowhere other than this to eat nearby! Food was reasonably priced with pizza being a firm favourite. The goats cheese salad was a very ample starter. Service smooth. Honest and correct but little dull.

In the heart of this little sleepy village is a restaurant that delivers on atmosphere, service, taste and experience. A healthy and telling balance of locals and tourists, there was a definite buzz on entering and a warm welcome despite having extremely poor conversational French in the toolbox. The menu is limited but everything was ( and looked to be ) tasty and inviting. The pork chop et al was a particular hit ! An outside terrace looks great for the warmer summer evenings where watching the world go by as the sun sets will be memorable and relaxing...

More of a fine dining experience, but very relaxed and excellent value. A small restaurant but the service was efficient yet really friendly. There are three set dinner menus on offer with a few added variations. The flavours were very nice from the Amuse Bouche to dessert. Every course was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The wine list included wines from the local area, a small selection but perfectly adequate. A great little find.

We have been travelling through France for 10 weeks and came across this gem of a restaurant. So far, for us, it has been the best French food we have eaten. Our night began with our waitress being very professional but very friendly. Her eye for detail was meticulous. We knew from the start that she must have been part owner of this place. She cared about everything and her English was perfect. Then the food came out and wow! It was absolutely delicious and presented so well too. Anyone who is travelling around this area should make the effort to go here. 10 out of 10 for us.

The menu is seasonal which means the same menu every day for the summer. But there was a reasonable choice and the food was very good. We visited twice in 2 weeks and both times the service was excellent, the food well cooked, we ate outside in a shady courtyard which was much appreciated due to some very hot weather, always busy.

Despite moaning incessantly to TripAdvisor (Not sure why, they never listen) to include a GOOD button between the AVERAGE button and the VERY GOOD button, they still havenât removed the lead from their saggy behinds to make this App truly representational. The Excalibur at Magalas is not average, it is GOOD, falling just below my requirements to be very good. The food is good, the service is good and the location is good. If you like down-to-earth, honest-to-goodness food and drink this is a GOOD place to start. Itâs above average. Always pleasant and generally filled with local inebriates and gentle Irish folk. The mussels are recommended, as are their pizzas. A good time to be had by all and just a stoneâs throw from the old Sports Bar (now Don Papas) â¥ï¸

I can not recommend Wanagaine too highly. If youâre looking for outstanding bar food in the Midi look no further! Quite how such consistent excellence emerges from such a small kitchen is beyond me. Huge credit to Morgan, Jessie and all the team. Five stars are insufficient for this little gem.

Locally sourced French cuisine with a distinctive southern accent by chef Jeshen Narayanen. Relaxed & laid back, not molecular gastronomy or liveried staff. But super fresh, simple Mediterranean dishes and brasserie classics, in a convivial environment fr
A highly successful restoration of these buildings and grounds which deserves far better than we received on our recent visit. When you arrive at the terrace you cannot fail to be impressed by the setting and the views- stunning. Went there for dinner to thank our friends who have a home nearby hoping to become regulars with a view to staying there on our more frequent visits. Not on this showing. On arrival, we were ignored. I went up to the bar and introduced myself, they found our reservation and we opted to have a seat where we could enjoy the outlook and have an aperitif. Ten minutes later I was back at the bar asking if we could have a drink please. I ordered a bottle of champagne to move things along. This duly arrived (wrong one but hey ho, fine we'll have it).Another twenty minutes pass, I'm at the bar again asking for menus as they seem to be ignoring any of the normal requests for service. These arrive and again we had to then wave our arms about to get them to take our order. We ordered wine.Waitress turns up at the table with the two bottles of wine and glasses, no thanks we would like them on the table please (obviously). Off they go, only for another waiter to collect them from the table and bring them back! I have to confess to us all being slightly fed up and bemused by now. We were eventually invited to out table an hour and a quarter after we arrived, pathetic. My meal- Mille-feuille cheese/ham with pea veloute, followed by fish with risotto sounded good? What arrived as a starter was the silliest thing I've seen on a plate; three micro layered pink and yellow cubes (think liquorice allsorts) on a splodge of green, they must have run out of the advertised parmesan crisps. Fridge cold so any hope of tasting it was removed. I tried one cube and left it. It smacked of the sort of thing a first year student would do in college. My main was a dried out slab of grey something, (over cooked for too long on too low temperature) with some black grains, not rice surely, which were as dry as the fish, YUM!I went to the bar again to get the bill (of course) and settle up "did you have two bottles of champagne?". No, one wrong one for which I was paying too much but just wanted to get away by now. They removed the cost of my starter at my request and during a short conversation with one of the staff she looked at me and quietly acknowledged some "problems in the kitchen" , indeed, for which we were paying handsomely. There are some serious deficiencies here and some further investment required in staff and training. Such a shame in what could be a great venue. We won't be going back.Dear Dale, Thank you for sharing your restaurant experience with us. Weâre delighted you liked the setting, but we are very sorry that your experience was not as you rightly should have expected. As I explained on the day we have recently recruited our reinforcements for the high season and are in a period of intensive training. Errors on an unexpectedly busy day meant you had a very long wait â much longer than you should have. This is of course an explanation rather than an excuse as it is our job to ensure all our customers receive excellent service at all times, and that was clearly not the case on this occasion. We hope the complementary wine went some way towards compensating you and youâll give us another chance to show you how the service matches the setting. Lucy Church Directrice Exploitation

Wine shop + Wine bar whith local products, tapas and hot dishes to eat Café in the morning and afternoon A range of beers, wines at winery prices, local whisky and gin to take away Selection of local products (honey, preserves, biscuit) Sourdough organic
Six of us ate here last night, sitting in the garden. Warm welcome from Fred and his team. Lovely selection of food, including at least 5 dishes suitable for our vegetarian friend. You don't need to order everything at once which makes for a nice, relaxed way of dining, especially if you are with a group. You can ask for wine recommendations or you can walk around the wine cellar and choose something for yourself. We ate hummus, vegetable pate, falafels, brandade of cod, squid, duck rillettes, all washed down with very nice wine from the local La Croix Belle winery.
