Antico Ristorante Borromeo is THE Ascona delight; exceptional, caring, courteous... The food is delicious, but so is the attention, in their beautiful garden.Makes me HAPPY every time.

Cozy and beautiful atmosphere, friendly service and very good food with an original touch. Coffee and drinks are also very good. And considering the quality and the nice, relaxing setting, in Switzerland you don't expect such fair prices. Two thumbs up, but beware of the tartare if you don't like chese: it has Parmesan in it.

This was an all-around pleasing experience. The staff speak all kinds of languages very well, are very helpful and forthcoming. The menu is unreal! There is all kinds of fine food, and the off-menu dishes of the day are even better! I could not recommend this place more!

We enjoyed a splendid lunch here on a Saturday - tasty amuses-bouche of local carpaccio, fork-tender osso bucco with a crunchy veggie gremolata and al dente saffron risotto, and a homemade curacao zabaione over vanilla ice cream. Thank you chef Antonio! The service was warm and friendly and all wines on offer have been tasted by the staff. We live here so we can confirm that this is one of the best eateries in town.

Warmly welcomed to this restaurant tucked beyond Grand Piazza. Much busier than neighbouring restaurants on the piazza, but great service. My husband had the lamb, which he said was delicious. I had the ravioli. We stayed for dessert, the chocolate mousse was amazing. The dining highlight of our Locarno trip

We took the bus from Locarno out there, after reading the reviews and having eaten already at some other grottos.Very friendly staff, did not made reservations and still got to sit where we wanted. Food was amazing so was the service. Did not had desert but a great merlot from the region and a bottle of water. We are definitely coming back

An elegant, beautiful fine dining restaurant. Both entrées were very good, with the ravioli with quark and leek in a mushroom sauce being the standout. The il misto di Pesce was a delicious assortment of 5 different fish and shellfish. My husband was slightly less impressed with his veal with morels and said he felt hungry afterwards which is very unusual for him. Service overall was good, but lost focus towards the end of our meal. The only minor negative was that the waiter insisted that service was not included in the bill: even though as a Swiss I know that it is mandated by Federal law (passed some 35 years ago) that service is included throughout Switzerland. A relaxing and enjoyable evening. Recommend.

The Restaurant Lachiesa is next to the ,,Santa Trinità " church in Locarno Monti. The restaurant has been renovated some years ago and has a beautiful view on the Maggiore Lake. Mediterranean dishes with some French and Asiatic details. Open days: from Tue
We live in these parts and have been wanting to try La Chiesa for some time now. This 14-point Gault-Millau restaurant is located in a beautifully restored church perched on the hillside overlooking Locarno. The Christmas menu included 4 courses (with amuse-bouche starter) - moist fish roulade with truffles, homemade al dente ravioli, juicy duck breast with a vegetable purée, and a nut roulade with homemade gelato to finish. Each dish was perfectly prepared, flavorful and pleasing to the eye. The wine list includes some interesting local choices, the service was friendly and attentive, the view spectacular. Worthy of its rating.

Fine dining, aroma cuisine, multi-award winning: so far, so Ecco. Executive Chef Rolf Fliegauf and his team have turned Ecco Ascona into one of the finest gourmet restaurants in Ascona. But the menu isnât the only marvel here, the location and service are
Unable to walk to the town we had all our meals for 4 days at the Ascona Hotel restaurant. Every meal was just perfect. Nothing "strange" as on some of our trips. Service perfectly fine.

Closed for holidays antil 7 july
We were advised by a friend to have supper here, so we booked a table. It is good that we did that, because it turned out that the small place was full in the evening. No wonder, the service and food are excellent! Also the atmosphere is special: It feels like being at someone's home. The menu is small, but the things we had were all superb. There is no mention of salad or wine by the glas on the menu, so just ask for it.
