Lipari (Italian pronunciation: [ˈliːpari], Sicilian: Lìpari, Latin: Lipara, Ancient Greek: Μελιγουνίς Meligounis or Λιπάρα Lipara) is the largest of the Aeolian Islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the northern coast of Sicily, southern Italy; it is also the name of the island's main town and comune, which is administratively part of the Metropolitan City of Messina. Its population is 12,734, but during the May to September tourist season, the total population may reach up to 20,000.

Warm welcome from friendly service team, where we secured a table and high-chair for our 2.5YO son. Best moment was being offered the chance to tailor his pasta dish, where the norma's aubergine flavour went down well. Other successes included the large fillet cooked with oil, salt and lemon. It remained succulent was well-matched with the 250ml glass of house red. Room for improvement on salad dishes, whose contents looked tired and tasted bland. Starter platter could have been presented better and tasted fresher too.70 euros for a shared starter, small pasta, 2 steaks, 2 drinks, 2 sides and a dessert seemed in line with expectation. Service went above and beyond it, and drives the rating up to 4 stars. Food does need to improve across the board to merit a better review

We had Pizza and it was really really good! Nice, covered open air restaurant with great people watching. Service was good! It was nice, too that they had a menu in English. The waitress was soo nice. We received a complimentary tapas appetizer with bruschetta, tepenade spread and some olives. Reasonable prices, good italian beer. After our lunch, the waitress brought us a complimentary shot of some italian after dinner drink and little sesame cookies. How nice! if we ever get to this part of Italy again, we will stop here.

A EUR15 starter platter with almost nothing and a sallad and a pasta vongole and beers for EUR 73. Taste was ok but not more. I would not go again. We stayed at a nearby hotel which had arranged "half board", which means set menu, with Chimera. Basically, we were given a one page re-used menu which provided a few of the cheaper items off the main menu. Our friends were not on the "half board" arrangement and needed to order off the main menu.It didn't start well for us. We wanted to sit on the outside or inside terrace, however were told this was not possible. We were placed inside, with a wall between us and any view. We were tired and didn't complain because we figured it would be best to eat and move on - we were the first or second group to arrive. Our starters arrived promptly and were quite good - 3.5/10. This occurred simultaneously with the arrival of the other customers and that's when the night deteriorated. We were basically ignored for the next 2.25 hours whilst main menu customers were served. There were at least 15 tables that arrived after us which were served 3 courses and departed before we were served our mains. We complained to the wait staff 3 times and then the manager. He could see we were very upset and went to the kitchen. Our mains quickly began to come out piecemeal and haphazardly. The steak and pork were virtually raw. One guest could not finish the pork and the other the salmon capachio, which was a packet of salmon dumped on some rocket (disgusting) - see pics.Staff were attentive, however this is the only positive feature of ChimeraWe will not returnWe would like to thank you for writing a review about your experience.We are deeply sorry for what happened that night. We could say that it was a very busy night and that sometimes some issues occur, but we are well aware that our words would not change how you felt that night.So we would not look for any excuse or justification.We just want to say we are deeply sorry and thank you for this feedback that will help the management to investigate better about what went wrong.We are sorry you did not give us another chance, because, after all, we are human and, even if we cannot delete that night, we could have at least tried to make it up to you. We do offer a gourmet experience that other guest in the past and still now are able to enjoy and end their dinner well satisfied. We hope you will stop by one day to give us the chance to surprise you in a very positive way.

We thought the granite was amazing here. The fig flavor was by far our favorite. If you never tried granite , this is the place you should start ....Perfect....Also nice waitstaff.

I had dinner with my friends here and we found a friendly atmosphere with tasty food. The main courses were excellent, whilst the second dishes had some imperfections.The terrace is beautiful, with a magic view toward Salina island.Highly recommended.

After visiting Filipino restaurant in Lipari which I was not really impressed we have been advised to visit Villa Liberty. It was a nice surprise in terms of location as well as food. Very friendly staff, good quality fish, and really good dishes. Choice of dishes is not enormous, but they are done very well. Good choice of wines as well. I would recommend it over other proclaimed places in Lipari.
