Lovely place in a central location in Andenos next to the seaside, we visited the restaurant with my family following the advice of the family we were renting the holiday apartment from and we were sure we would be very satisfied. The service was impeccable, good choice from the menu a la carte and the daily special. My wife and I both went for the 25⬠menu formula with an entrée, main course and dessert. I tried the salad with foie gras and ham, the entrecôte with pepper sauce and homemade fries, panna cotta for dessert, my wife opted for the fish option, also ending with a panna cotta. I drank a glass of Bordeaux red wine. Our son got a child menu with ham and homemade free. We all enjoyed the quality of the food, extremely well presented and prepared, and the nice atmosphere of the place, also very happy with the service by the owner and his son (I guess). The bill was very fair, less than 60 euros Very recommended place, we surely would visit again when we are in the area.

Went to Chez Alcide last night after long drive from Nantes mostly because it was nearby and we were tired. So pleased that we did.It was warm and welcoming, comfortable and friendly. The waitress who served us was knowledgeable, helpful and good humoured about our very poor attempts at French. She even used Google Translate app with us so we could identify what fish was the special of the day!The food was very good. I had a tasty starter of parma ham and confit duck as a main. The duck was tender and delicious. Husband had pate starter and the cod main and reported that it was exceptional! A good value bottle of wine topped off a perfect meal.I recommend Chez Alcide highly.

We ate here at the end of our holiday in the area with friends, we hadn't been tempted by this restaurant due to us having to drive to it, but our friends wanted to go so we agreed. On arrival we were shown to our reserved table, it took some time to get our orders placed but once they were we had continual drinks and attention. The children had the pizza off the menu, it would be nice for them to have a larger choice than nuggets, burger or pizza... However they had the pizza and ate the majority of it.Between the adults we had a lot off the menu and none of it was awful but it was all pretty basic, the kind of food you could cook at home. This place seems to be finally heading up and it would be nice to see it turn into a real experience for adults and kids alike! Maybe a wider range on the menu and fresher food.I should imagine that we will dine here again next year, providing it's still open.

Restaurant based on the port of Ares next to the water, which specializes in fish from the Arcachon bay and seafood
We were really looking for another restaurant, but couldn't find it so not an auspicious start. So we sat down for lunch. The cabin has views over a short canal with oyster shacks on both sides, and was a beautiful spot to dine.We had the menu de jour with a glass of good French white wine by the glass with a creamy remoulade, for starter - so far so ok. The main course was beautifully cooked fish (Lotte) on a bed of green beans, and was excellent. Desert was a very tasty raspberry coolie on top of a mousse. Price was very reasonable. It's always good to find places that offer up a memorable dining experience with superb ambience and views that actually still try when it comes to the food.A truly memorable lunch in amazing surroundings.

Second time we are there. The first time, long, long waiting time, spoiling the Dîner. This time, great. Nice weather so nice view on the small Harbor and we were lucky enough to watch a great sun set. So great location for Dîner. The wine is good with a good wine list. Not all from Bordeaux area!! We took a white wine from the Bergerac region upon the vice of the waiter. Great advice, excellent wine and affordable. We were there have a big sea food plate. We got it. Impressive. Not so expensive and excellent. Oyster : very goodShrimps: great, deliciousShells : goodCrab : overcooked. So not so delicious. When checking we told this to the owner and he spontaneously deduced the crab from the bill. Wow, impressive in France. Prawns : deliciousSo a great moment, the view, the delicious sea food and the wine. On top of that, the kindness of service and the reaction of the owner in front of a small complaint. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed a good meal here when staying on the campsite next door. We were welcomed by staff and offered a small choice of tables (so recommend booking) and then had the specials explained in full. Good choice of wines and great food - will go again before we leave!
