We had a very nice dinner at this spot after eyeing it up for weeks. We wondered why it was not very busy but found out is still very new (3-4 months they said). The food was spectacular (we had the pork dish and the scallop dish) and the server was friendly and endearing. Atmosphere was tastefully modern, fresh and simple. Highly recommended!

We found this little Creperie next to the market & chose a galette with egg, cheese & ham. The friendly waiter brought our food to the table very quickly, even though the restaurant was busy. It was delicious & inexpensive. It's a very quaint place with old pictures, tins & other items decorating the walls. Worth a visit. They also serve burgers & crepes among other things.Thank you very much ! See you next time in La Rochelle

The food was divine, a nice selection and beautifully described by the waiter so you knew what you were getting. Then perfectly described again when it arrived. Lovely combinations and interesting presentation which wasnât over fussy but done well. The menu is translated into English and the waiters both knew English well too. I think you would struggle if a vegetarian but theyâre so good I expect theyâd accommodate whatever you needed. Highly recommended.

We booked this restaurant based on reviews and were not disappointed. The food was excellent. A good wine list supported a great meal. The weather wasnât great so there was not a lot of people there and the atmosphere was zero not helped by awful mortuary music in the background. But hose things aside the food made the visit a hit with us

We booked for an evening meal after reading the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed the cuisine was excellent and away from the hussle and bussle of the very touristy sea front cafes and restaurants. There was an option of dining outside on the street, however we selected to dine inside to avoid second hand smoke. We enjoyed the 31⬠three course meal, with the choice of three entrees, three mains and four deserts. We selected a very nice bottle of local Sauvignon, at 29â¬. We started with a complimentary and tasty amuse boucher. For entree I loved my zucchini type soup beautifully presented with coriander, terrine and goats cheese on the side of the plate. Av enjoyed her tuna with thai inspired salad. We both ordered the filet of sea bream with vegetables again delightful presentation very tasty just delicious. The desert was again a taste bud extravaganza. The service was excellent. Overall a highly recommended restaurant with very innovative cuisine at a very reasonable.

Today's lunch at Restaurant Christopher Coutanceau was a revelation. Without exception, it was one of the best seafood-based meals I have eaten in France.Everything was perfect, from reception to departure. The quality and creativity of the cuisine was perfectly matched by the relaxed professionalism only seen in the finest French restaurants.I'm quite interested in cooking and was impressed by how knowledgeable everyone on the staff who I quiried on ingredients and preparation were.Perfect food, incredible presentation, knowledgeabl, relaxed but professional staff, it doesn't get any better than this anywhere in France.

Only visited for drinks but great atmosphere and got involved in the quiz even though we speak virtually no French!! Barman happy to translate for us and had a great laugh with the locals. Food menu seemed a bit limited but there were plenty eating and enjoying by the looks. We'd go back!!

Booked in advance after recommendations on trip advisor. Empty when we arrived but within half an hour full up with even some refusals on a Wednesday night! Food was beautifully presented. Staff very friendly. Menu was slightly limited for choice if you have any fussy eaters but we all enjoyed ours especially the whole dorade!

Coffee shop and take away, sandwiches, salads, paninis, smoothies, milk shakes, coffes, waffles
Whilst walking in La Rochelle we came across this amazing sandwich shop. The owner was lovely and although our French wasnât very good it was not a problem as he spoke English and taught us a bit of French! I wasnât sure what to go for so the owner recommended which bread I go for and I said I wanted a sandwich with goats cheese. Well it was the BEST sandwich Iâve ever had, next time Iâm in France Iâll be making a special trip!
