Located in Seckenheim, a suburb of Mannheim, this restaurant offers good German food, friendly service and reasonable prices. You get to see the locals eating at a local restaurant.

Very close to the city of Heidelberg and Mannheim, but so quiet that you can relax and enjoy, our restaurant & board "Zum Lowen". Enjoy the nature and reach all important destinations like Heidelberg without trouble and in a few minutes. Our house offers
Very nice setting for the restaurant in a courtyard especially on a warm Summer's evening. Meal was delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Very glad we drove out for dinner. Highly recommended.

The food and service are very good. The pizzas are as Italian as they come. However what's best is the location of the restaurant amongst various heritage buildings.

A nice dinner with friends who translated the menu with assistance from the waiter. A good range of simple food, well prepared from fresh ingredients and some nice beer to wash it down.

During our short break in Ladenburg we came here several times for breakfast, tapas, diner or just a drink. We don't understand how there are so many bad reviews: we had consistently good experiences. The staff were always friendly (with good English), the service efficient and the food very good. We also liked the warm atmosphere and great decoration. Whenever we come back to Ladenburg we won't hesitate to eat and drink here again.

For a Portuguese restaurant, the food was not overly authentic. Having lived in Portugal, I was disappointed with the cuisine. It was nonetheless good and the establishment has an excellent environment and decor. We ate out doors and had a pleasant view of the Neckar river.

Simply amazing experience. Friendly, 5 star service that was flattering and incredibly friendly. I not only felt welcome, but I felt important.Food was fantastic. Three course meal, with every course perfectly balanced to excite the palate, satiate your hunger but not overfill. If you're looking for a romantic date or anniversary meal then I can highly recommend the wondrous reception and cuisine that awaits here.

Housed in a 17th century building, the interior of Die Kartoffel is lovingly filled with all sorts of antiques and bric-a-brac. In summer, guests can enjoy their meal al fresco under a 14th century âGewölbeâ (arch) or in their Biergarten. The quirky atmosphere is not the only attraction though. Die Kartoffel is well-known in the region as a place where you can enjoy a piece of meat like you would during the Stone Ages... well, almost! The house specialty is an Argentinian Black Angus steak served on a sizzling slab of lava stone heated to 400 (!) degrees Celsius. You get to grill your steak at your table, exactly how you like it.The steak meal comes with 3 different sauces, along with a baked potato smothered with homemade sour cream and a side salad.Other meats, prawns and even vegan and vegetarian options are available.Overall an enjoyable dinner with delicious food, good local wines and great service.Note: There is a ventilation system in the dining area, but it doesn't entirely remove the grill smoke from the tables, so be prepared to smell like a piece of grilled meat at the end of your meal!

This small restaurant became famous when they sent the King and Queen of Sweden away because of a wedding party. But it is also a very fine restaurant. The service is friendly and the menu shows that the chef likes to experiment and try different things. I could not resist to try the Wildschwein-Currywurst ( wild boar sausage with curry-tomato sauce) with sweet potato french fries. Less fatty than the traditional pork version and very tasty. My company emjoyed their choices too ... Which ranged from classic rumpsteak to wild chamois stew with dimplings. Unfortunately we did not have time to try the desserts. Will be back for more.

Had dinner here while spending a long weekend with friends in Heidelberg and found that everything was excellent: the food (both the taste and its presentation), the wine, the acoustics, the village of Ladenburg itself. It's a restaurant that I would definitely recommend.
