This restaurant has a fine location, a stone throw away from a stunning abbey, nested in the middle of beautiful landscapes and forests. The little garden under the trees offers a very pleasant setting for a lunc - solid plusThe food is traditional alsacian, with a bit of of an effort to give it twist. The chef is working and it shows, the food is good and even surprisingly modern for some dishes (e.g. Sushi) - Strong Plus The service... when will the French learn that customers have expectations that they consider as their rights...whereby the hosts makes an effort to please the customer and not the customer complies to the rules of the establishment and should be grateful to have been given access. They dont accept "late" lunch (after 2pm)anecdote: we had set aside a slice of foie gras on a plate for a late comer for lunch ; we then realized they had taken it away and they refused to replace it... a bit of a stingy bunch...

Came here for dinner which was very nice. Restaurant has a classy driftwood theme. Nice service. Tarte flambé are well made. Definitely worth a visit!

The evening started really good. The owner recognized our accent and started talking in the "elsass dialect" with us, which was quite welcoming for us.Unfortunately the waitress was really busy and not very friendly (given the circumstances that she had to take care of a whole set of 4 tables at that time...).It also seemed to us, that since we were younger than the most guests in there (around 30yo) she didn't treat us the same as the others...Unfortunately she also didn't thought about to enlighten my friend (after he specifically ordered the salad without meat - cause he's vegetarian - which he statet out more than once) when he ordered the flame cake, that it has meat on it. Of course this can happen. And of course we know that, but after telling her about the mistake she tried to blame my friend for it.This accident was a really big bummer for all of us.The rest of the food was either very good or ok.I guess it depends on the waitress whether your experience will be great or not.

Crista'lion is a quiet and bright little cafe/restaurant that serves food and drink with a polite and personal touch. It is adjacent to the Musee Rene Lalique and is great for a light meal after a visit to the Musee. The menu is limited, but mostly delivers a range of tastes/recipes from the local region - I had a lovely, light Quiche Lorraine (I know I was not in Lorraine!) and mixed salad with some wine and coffee. Not expensive but an excellent light lunch.

It was a quiet Tuesday night in the off-season, and our party of six arrived without a reservation. There were two occupied tables in the large, well-lit dining room, where we received a friendly welcome from Madame. While we browsed the carte we were served wee walnut bread buns, which were delicious. Most of us had the â¬31 three-course meal, though a couple had just the two-course â¬27 version. After we had ordered, we were brought an amuse-bouche of a sort of pumpkin soup, which even those (me) who are not mad on pumpkins (nor indeed soups) found very tasty. It was a good meal, good service though the room was on the bright side.

Went with my husband and stayed a night at the Villa there. Everything was perfect on this day.The restaurant is an art piece itself. Most of the tables are window seated, and there is a beautiful lamp on each table. We started with a glass of champagne and had a whole menu. A bottle of red wine and a Sauternes to finish. Wine prices are reasonable . We had a 9/10 course menu, every dish was just perfect. I loved the dessert the most.Staff were very friendly, food was delicate, wine was superb.Romance in the air which we had a very nice evening. I definitely come back in 2018.

The Lion d'Or offers 3 dining rooms: The large 'Valle' dining room with seating for 150. The 'Village' room with seating for 30. The 'S'Lewestuewel' room with seating for 20.
We visited 'Au Lion d'Or' for dinner whilst staying at another of the village hotels. The hotel is an attractive building right in the village centre. The restaurant, at the back, is in a vast room which reminds one of dining on an ocean liner. Food was of a high standard and we were impressed by the complimentary 'amuse-bouches' which arrived before the starter and after the first course. The chef here is clearly serious and proud, and it showed. We had some stunning foie gras (no apologies whatever to the 'antis'!). A side-salad ordered for my wife who preferred not to have a first course was a little work of art in itself. Excellent wine-list. Pity the service was stiff and characterless (whilst nevertheless being perfectly efficient) and that there was no sign of senior support on the restaurant floor because otherwise one could easily have given this restaurant the top Trip Advisor rating .

We stopped at Aux Trois Roses for lunch after being turned away by a snooty maitre'd at another restaurant (no reservations). Although our French is weak and we weren't dressed in designer clothes, the staff at Aux Trois Roses greeted us warmly and treated us with respect. Anyone with food sensitivities will appreciate the allergy list on the menu's last page, showing what dishes contain ingredients that many have issues with. The decor is lovely, the views stunning, especially on the terrace, and the food very good. Thank you ATR for a delightful experience.

We have tried several restaurants here and this one was the best without any doubt. The interior is nice and rustical, the personal is friendly and professional. Foods were delicious and beautifully presented. The menu is a bit short but it changes frequently. Huge selection of vines. If you go there I suggest this restaurant! (probably better to reserve a table)
