We stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon because it was one of the few places open. The food was OK--my hot chicken panini sandwich was pretty much what you'd expect, my friend's crepe acceptable (and cheap). What disappointed me was the service. I ordered a formule that included sandwich, salad, and beverage, overlooking the small detail that the beverage must be cold. When I ordered hot tea as part of the formule, the waitress didn't bother to point this out, so I ended up paying 3 more euros than I'd anticipated. Yes, it was my oversight, but a more attentive server would have set me straight.

Fantastic food, excellent quality and value for money. Portions were big, and staff extremely friendly. Unfortunately my husband does not eat raclette or fondue, so I could not have that. I was green with envy of the couples with their private raclette grill . Talk about cheese overload. But I'll recommend it to anyone. We had the the 32 euros 'set' menu, which had good choices and huge portions. If we stayed longer, I'd go every night to try something different. But book. It's popular

In a typical restaurant , Fred and his crew will be Joyful to welcome you and make you discover local specialities . See you soon
An excellent restaurant with great service. From the moment we arrived service was quick and friendly. Best Duck I have eaten since arriving in France. Book as gets very busy but so worth it.

Odd one this. Mixed atmosphere. Friendly, but disinterested service. Busy, but tables carefully kept for regulars. There are pictures on the tourist menu. Itâs almost like two restaurants in one. Avoid the non- Hautes-Alpes classics, which are a little mean and landed quickly, but badly with all of us. Go for the generous looking pierrade and cook yourself happy; Wife loved her crepe, deserts otherwise functional. We could have been regulars, but disappointed, will carry on down to the foot of the gargoyle from now on.

Very good service, well looked after. Good portions of food, not too big, not too small. Very good value for money. Great location

This was our favourite restaurant during our recent holiday in Puy St Vincent over New Year, We had many lovely meals here, the food is great, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. They also do an amazing Chocolate Viennois which is great after an afternoon on the slopes. We actually had out New Years Eve meal here which did not disappoint.Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

We are a traditional French restaurant with an authentic atmosphere and an amazing view from both inside and the terrace area. You can find all the local goods on our menu like the cheese fondue, meat fondue, raclette, pierrade or the traditional casserol
I went here with my friends lady night and we ate a very good dinner, the meat was of a good quality and the prices were correct.Unfortunately our table was near the door so it was always cold. The menu should have an english version in a place with a lot of tourists.Anyway is a good place for a good dinner.

Went to Les Tables de Gaspard last August, stayed for two nights and stayed for dinner as well. The room was spacious, with basic comfort. Bathroom was clean and offered basic comfort as well. There was no real breakfast, but coffee making facilities, and there's a good bakery just around the corner. Considering the price for the room, still a very good choice. Dinner was very good though. Really liked the inventive dishes, served by a very friendly and welcoming host, in a superb dining room.

We stopped by here by chance after a day of climbing in Ailefroide (we being two adults, and two ravenous teenage climbers). The food was fresh and plentiful, and they even accommodated vegetarian requests and dairy allergies (difficult in this region, given the role cheese and meat play). The food was plentiful, freshly made, and the service was impeccable. We're glad we didn't let the decor scare us off... and the desserts (we all had ices or ice creams) were superb.

To celebrate the end of our holidays, we had decided to go and treat ourselves with a nice big ice cream one evening. We sat outside on the terrace at one of the tables sheltered from the wind by only to be greeted by a 'you cannot seat here, that's for customer having dinner' When we objected that there were still many sheltered tables free and no queue in sight they nevertheless insisted to shift us into less comfy, wind exposed, reclined chair. No wanting to disappoint the kids, I caved in, but this second-class customer was most unwelcoming. The ice cream were good, but:a) I understand that whipped cream is a practical easy way to make the bowl look enormous, but please put more ice cream and less whipped cream. At 12â¬+ each I expect more than 3 scoops sunk in 2 cans of whipped creamb) we ask to ask several time for a jug of water to be broughtc) I then had the disappointing surprise to find out that the ice cream served actually came from plastic tubs. Do not call yourself a 'glacier' if you do not make your ice-cream yourself !d) we finally had to insist to pay (proving their lack of attention despite restaurant far from busy) and can only do it in cash !Overall good ice-cream (nothing to die-for though), overpriced and disappointing service. PS: This disappointing service was the second issue in the same week. A few days before, we came inside for a dinner, waited a while to be seated, so eventually sat at a table, were ignored (see points b) and d) above about their lack of supervision), finally left after 15 minutes /Nous voulions finir les vacances en beauté et nous offrir de bonnes grosses glaces en famille.
