I was on a trip in Norheimsund and wanted to eat.The Cafe has a lovely setting and it was a beautiful day, so the outside seating was fantastic. But:There is no table service, what I found OK, but with the amount of Guest should be there. You have to ring a bell on the counter to get attention from the workers, and the drinks are by self service. Coffee was good.I had Salad and a Burger and for 330 Kroner I did expect more than a Cesar Salad with french dressing, and no cheese. The Burger was for the Price acceptable. The whole experiance was a let down and I doubt I will return.Maybe for Coffee, but not for any food.

This is an old site for previous owners of the restaurant. Now there are new owners, new menu and new employee.
We stopped off here for quick snack while on tour of Norway. Had a plate of chips(quick service and greatly enjoyed) and drinks and were interested at all the history: a Scots/ Norwegian balttle took place here in 1612 and there are books available and a big oil painting.
Norheimsund was not a place we intended to stop, but travelling with a baby will do that. We came to the cafe and the staff were friendly with lot's of seating available. We sat outside and had a great view of the bridge and surrounding water ways. The coffee we had was nice, but was way to hot to drink. The biscuits we bought were nice. Made for a nice spot to sit and relax.

The buffet offered a lot of choice, yet looked very tired by 13.00 when I arrived. I had an open prawn sandwich that was very so-so, with huge dollop of factory mayo on top. This is the disappointing side of a visit to Norway. Stratospheric prices for 1970s cuisine. I'm struggling for positives....maybe a nice view and an open air terrace in summer.

This cosy authentic farm restaurant is possible to pre-book for groups over 15 persons. Please send us an e-mail to make a reservation.
The farm has been in the family for 8 generations and grows a wonderful array of fruit and berries. We were welcomed by the brother and sister who own and run the farm and cafe/store. While tasting apple cider, they told us of the history of the farm and making apple cider. Heidi is also "famous" for her apple pie - now makes and sell 9000 pies a year! They are truly delightful people, hardworking and both have a wonderful sense of humour - the visit was a highlight of our tour of Norway.Than you so much for your visit Valerie! It was so Nice to read Your review. Thank you so much for Your Nice Words! Welcome back sometime!

Yeah - I know. Have seafood, deer and lamb when travelling in Hardanger. But this Italian pearl right on the seafront serve genuine Italian food combined with local produce. Great seafood pasta and pizzas with local cured ham and fresh mozarella. No wine list but they discovered a Soave Tamellini ‘17 just for me. Great service, but make sure to book in advance
