L'improviste By David, Bistronomie & TeaLounge Little known, the concept "Bistronomie" is a transposition of gourmet cuisine presented in a simpler way as in a brewery. Het nog weinig gekende concept "Bistronomie" brengt de gastronomische keuken op een ee
We really wanted to encourage David Selen on his second attempt, especially on the first birthday of his new restaurant. The location is stunning, with splendid views on the world famous horse racing track. The terrace is beautiful, and the interior decoration is modern, somewhat cold (perhaps because everything is new). Ample parking possibilities.A 4-course menu at 50 euros is not expensive. But two things let us down: service and taste. Staff is not up to par with what this restaurant wants to be. And worse: the flavors did not surprise us. Everything tasted rather bland. It's not by throwing in a pinch of truffle that a plate suddenly turns into something gastronomic. Not much happens in the open kitchen. The house wine was not impressive. And finally, an advance payment must be made upon reservation. Don't like this ...

The first time we visited was on a sunny evening early september: on the outdoor terrace we had a nice salad with( large) portion smoked salmon, together with a country view on the meadow nexdoors-utmost enjoyable.Recently returned an evening(this time inside due to darkness and cold weather): cosy with the all wooden interior-looks like it was a former barn- and excellent food for very reasonable price. It's a little tight, with tabled close together, but that adds to the cosyness and did not obstruct the table servicea place to remember- we will surely return regularely

It is a place to which we return from time to time. Food, service, atmosphere, price, .... everything is there at the right level of expectations. We have never encountered any type of hick-up or disappointment. And this is valid whether you sit inside or on the back-side terrace.

Stopped by at 'De Zwaan' last Wednesday. Had the daily dish, shrimp croquette ( home made ) as a starter, and then pork with winter vegetables. All prepared with great care, and incredible value for money. Excellent place for a casual lunch on a weekday when in the area of Kruishoutem. Plan to return for dinner, to sample the full menu.

Gezellig restaurant, heerlijk eten, goede vriendelijke bediening. In de zomer ook de mogelijkheid om buiten te eten. Ruime parking voor het restaurant. Hier krijg je waar voor je geld. Aanrader!

Usually this place is crowded - it's a popular location in the neighbourhood. However, the prices are fairly low and the dishes are, in contrast, quite elaborate and tasty! Not much more to add - it's cosy and you'll end up with a full stomach!

I think all the superlatives have already been expended by reviewers before us. Living in London, we have the privilege of access to diverse and outstanding cuisine from all around the world. But London could never create anything close to this jewel of a restaurant. Beg, borrow, steal - do what it takes to get a reservation. This restaurant should be on every person's bucket list

Not a great location. Friendly hosts, great quality of food. Exceptional wine menu, a lot of very original wines. Simple interior decoration with poor acoustics. Disappointing detail: ordering the 4 course surprise menu being charged â¬7,5 extra for one vegetarian guest, and next snack serving foie gras to the vegetarian??

We had a great lunch and a lovely experience but although we advised the restaurant upfront abt my fish allergy and the headwaiter confirmed it before service I was served bonito flakes (to my understanding that is Tuna=fish) and lateron the langustine was accompanied by eel. Both dishes were replaces but it shouldnât happen in this top restaurant. Highlight are certainly the juices and infusions which accompanied the 7course lunch. I am a wine lover but I was pleasantly surprised by this alternative.
