The Roof Restaurant at the Radisson Blu Kayseri is a great place to go if you are looking for an excellent meal with a beautiful view of the city. The staff was welcoming, friendly and very quick to serve my meal. They recommended a great local wine and their suggestions for the mezze and the main course where also spot on.I had wonderful cold mezze including dolmas and the largest and most delicious artichoke hearts I've ever had. The mezze where followed by lamb cooked in a clay pot with vegetables which was fantastic. I did not have a chance to try the desserts but the meal was excellent, even the bread was good!I really enjoyed the elegant yet unpretentious atmosphere of the restaurant and the view truly can not be beat: I could see the city of Kayseri with Mount Erciyes in the background. Ask for a table near the window and if you are having an early dinner get ready for a real treat as you watch the sunset from the best spot in the city.

I found out about this place from TripAdvisor during a day-long stay in Kayseri on our way back home from Cappadocia. It made for a great, entertaining evening with the family. The decor is interesting, the place has lots of things for kids to explore (birds, mannequins in film costumes, board games, film posters), good music, film on tv screens (we watched two Charlie Chaplin movies while we ate), and a menu that is also a cinema magazine. It is an original place that appeals to all senses. You can tell that the people who run the place have put a lot of thought into the menu: the food is not like anything else that you come across in Kayseri as tourists and it is presented in interesting ways. The service staff are very friendly. It is a bit pricey but I thought well worth it. I hope I can go back one day to try out the private theaters downstairs.
