Katerini (Greek: Κατερίνη, Kateríni [kate'ɾini]) is a city in Central Macedonia, Greece, the capital of Pieria regional unit. It lies on the Pierian plain, between Mt. Olympus and the Thermaikos Gulf, at an altitude of 14 m. The city has a population of 85,851 (according to the 2014 census) and it is the second most populous urban area at the Region of Macedonia after Thessaloniki. The close distance between two cities (68km), has been beneficial for Katerini's development over recent years. Katerini is accessible from the main Thessaloniki–Athens highway GR-1/E75 (with the Katerini's South and North interchanges) and the Egnatia Odos to the north. It is served by Intercity, Proastiakos (Suburban Railway) and local trains on the main railway line from Athens to Thessaloniki and there is a comprehensive regional and national bus service with its hub in the city.

We know katerini has amazing places to go to bars clubs cafes and restaurants not forgetting beautiful beaches but once you step into Freud you're mesmerized. You just keep on returning. We did. Five times in a week. Beautiful place, the service is exceptional and the dj amazing. Cannot wait to return to Freud. Georgina Melbourne Australia.

The location is great but the people who work there, most of them are rude. There is a lot of smoke in there (they should be the first to apply the law) and they never apologize when they bring you the coffee after 25 minutes... Not professionals at all! I didn't like it and I don't recomend it.

We enjoyed eating in this restaurant almost every night during our stay in Olympic beach. Dani, the host, was really friendly and seeing his warm and friendly interaction with guests made us feel like home. The rest of the staff were also delightful and even though they were very busy, they always had a smile on their faces.Food was also excellent and affordable. One even gets free ice cream at the end :)

It's a nice place and the prices are good. Only minor point for improvement is that the service was not that friendly. Pizza and pasta was tasty and Italian style. Especially pizza Italian style is hard to find in Greece. We were too full to try deserts but their prices appear really good (euro 2.50 for tiramisu)

We had dinner with some friends and were impressed by the quality and delicacy of the plates. The filled zucchini with meat were to die for as well as the wild rice with raisins. We had beef in tomato sauce and pork with prosciutto that were really good, and the filled zucchini flowers were also very delicate. They made a traditional pasta dish that was also lovely. Definitely a must go place if in Katerini.

We found Amalthea searching the net on our trip between Meteora and Thessaloniki and commented how one place can have so many good reviews.After visiting the charming brothers we fully understand why and how. It is exceptional. From a quick lunch it became a long one.We had fish courses which where simple,tasty but refined with a twist,great wine and incredible desserts.We had the incredible nice brothers giving us full attention and writing us a handbook of great restaurants for our journey ahead.Thank you for memorable stay at your place and we hope to visit you soon again.Last comment: the prize was more than fair for the quality.We would like to thank you very much for your great review!
