Voted as the best burger restaurant in town by Lonely Planet. Up n runnin for two years now, we serve quality comfort food such as sandwiches, sausages and burgers. Located in the heart of Kampot in one of the old french houses (which we gave a complete r

Superb Cambodian and international food, great service, and excellent drinks with fabulous happy hour served on a gorgeous breezy terrace with the best views in Kampot. Situated looking over the river towards the elephant mountains and the setting sun. Op
This restaurant lacked the service, value and genuine hospitality evident in most camdodian owned places. It seemed to trade on the location, with a river view and fell short in other ways. It felt like a typical money focused establishment, with little heart. Our food was overpriced and overcooked

Generous portions. Starters of soup and fried prawns where large and soup come with rice. Cambodian and French menu. Not overpriced. Chicken in wine and cream sauce with German spritzle (fried noodle pasta) was nice and came with salad, as did cafe del beef (a bit chewy). Fruit and chocolate fondue large enough to share. Wine from 3.50 dollar a glass. Huge local beer jug 4.50 dollar. Khemer coffee ok. Nice enough building with outside seating. 32 dollar total for 2.Thank you for enjoying a full meal at our place and taking time to review it. According to your meal description, I remember you came yesterday evening, jan 2nd but had the small sofa terrace table, sorry we didn't have a more decent table available.Booking is recommended.Even a quick visit or a whatsapp call a bit in advance can help your comfort and our organization. Please allow me to precise: House wine is an Argentinian Shiraz Malbec (Mixtus) which I serve since 2014 at $3,00 a glass.I as well offer a Sicilian Organic Nero d'Avola at $4,50 and a nice choice of wine by the bottle. Cambodia draft beer at $1, the mug is $4,00.My 200g "Beef Steak Beurre Café de Paris" is cut from the local beef filet which I order/book in advance from a Cham butcher in Kampot, tasty and quite tender compared to any other beef you can find served for $6,00 with Salad and Side Dish: french fries, or mash potatoes, or home made spätzlis as you had, or even rösti ($1 extra) Now I also offer a Beef Filet (Tournedos) from Dan Meat, famous German Butcher from Phnom Penh who chooses his beasts and ages well the meat... Normally you can leave your teeth at home, it melts on your palate!Served with a "Marchand de Kampot" sauce which is a variation on Marchand de vin, meaning schallots, green and black pepper, mushrooms in red wine and cream sauce! $9,50 200g, with salad and side dish choice. You can as well enjoy that sauce with our Fondue Bourguignonne too ($10,50/pers 200g Dan Meat Filet cube cuts you fry at your table with 4 sauces, side dish and salad). And what I call "Chicken Zürich Style" is as well based on a traditionnal Swiss dish: "Zürcher Geschneltzte" which is traditionally made with veal which is a bit too expensive to be able to serve that dish at $5,50 here. I can criticize our Khmer Coffee too: it comes from our excellent local roaster not far from my place, it's tasty, but my staff does it often too light same as they drink it, I love strong coffee... Having had a nice diner, your coffe has not been charged, as a Thank You.Our Expresso from the machine is quite appreciated: Mocca in which we add a part of Vietnamese beans making it strong, smooth and round in mouth. Being a coffee addict, I drink about 12 expresso in a day, I consider the machine to be my Private Luxury which I share with Guests ;-)Just an expresso is served at $1,00, again because I Love Coffee and one expresso is not enough to fulfill my own appetite. And yes, I am surprised you took a dessert as often people feel already full with only one main dish even without a starter, we serve generous portions! I confirm I could mention: "Enough for 2 people" on the menu about the Fruit Chocolate Fondue , made of dark chocolate which we season with a drop of rhum, drop of coffee and other "secrets"... $4,50,I think it looks beautifull and can fulfill chocolate lovers' palate. I allow myself to mention our Moelleux Chocolat (Lava Cake) which seems to be talked about and recommended even in neighbourg countries... Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for $4,00Please accept again my Best Wishes for 2019, And Enjoy your trip to the Kingdom of Wonders, CedricNB: prices as on january 3rd 2018 with many not having changed since years, a light increase on some might happen as sourcing costs rise.

Simple Things is a vegetarian/vegan restaurant and yoga studio in Kampot, Cambodia. We serve delicious food, coffee and smoothies.
We really enjoyed the stay at simple things restaurant. It was no problem to get a table without any reservation. Every meal we had was delicious. Free water!! And also some card games which we played before our food was served. Sometimes the music was a bit too loud, but I would recommend this place in case you really like veggie/vegan food !

I dropped in here in desperate need of a coffee and to my utter astonishment found that amongst their delicious cakes was a gluten free option to go with it!Of course I had to have it and Iâm so glad I did. It was a flourless chocolate fudge cake and it was GOOD and paired very well with my latte.Afterwards I went upstairs to their shop and browsed around at all the artwork and handmade souvenirs on display. A wonderful cause, interesting works, good food and a friendly vibe. Well done!
