A stalwart of the Rosebank scene. I've visited here on many occasions while visiting Joburg. Good mixed menu of burger/salad/grill type options, in a buzzy setting at the heart of the mall. A classic brunch spot too and great for people watching. Service always friendly, but can be a little slow, especially when busy.

We had a delicious family meal at this upscale seafood restaurant. It may specialize in seafood but the grill was also fantastic. We were a family of four with two teenagers. The restaurant offered a great range of starters and main courses. Overall a great meal at a very reasonable price.

We had twice breakfast and once dinner. The breakfast is outstanding especially there breads and sushi. We loved it and service was 15/10. Dinner was no so good especially the veg mnu. This is still arguably the finest restaurant and dining experience in town.The food is excellent and the the service never disappoint. The chef stretches boundaries with food that you would not imagine. The complementary starters and butters give a prelude of a journey of adventure.

Fun ambiance and service superb. That doesnât make up for fact fish was rubbery and not properly cooked. Seasoning was uneventful. Hoped for more peri peri taste although they had sauce in table. Not the same as grilled with sauce. Liver starter excellent. Also excellent security getting in and out from street. Sketchy neighborhood way off the grid. Take taxi not safe.

Creative menu that will satisfy any foodie, making use of seasonal/local ingredients, presented beautifully by a chef who obviously takes pride in his work. He made a point of visiting our table when we arrived. We stayed at the hotel and liked the food so much we ate at the restaurant every night rather than venturing out. Always a treat. Arguably Joburg's finest Italian-inspired eatery, serving classic Italian dishes, some with a local flair, and a few other international fine-dining offerings. The risotto is an absolute triumph, as is the gnocchi. The Porcini chicken with pea risotto as a Secondi will rival the quality of any Tuscan Michelin-star offering, and the roasted butternut ravioli with Porcini-Truffle cream and candied walnuts is perfection personified. Desserts are inspirational. The pavlova is incredibly special, as is the Salted Caramel Brûlée with popcorn Gelato. Expect fine dining, beautiful decor, prices that are slightly higher than the norm (although very reasonable if one considers the serving sizes and the quality), impeccable service and a fantastic wine list and drinks menu, with reasonably priced cocktails. This is a top-class establishment serving only the finest of Italian pastas, meats, seafood, desserts and drinks. Not only one of Joburg's finest, but one of the finest Italian eateries South Africa has to offer. Café Del Sol Classico is an institution. We spent one night at the Intercontinental just outside the O.R.Tambo Int'l airport in Johannesburg. Lovely hotel. Terrific restaurant. We had lunch, dinner, and breakfast during our stay. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted even better. The wait staff was cheerful, courteous,and knew their menu well. We were impressed with every aspect of each meal. The chef actually came out to visit with the diners and ask their thoughts on the dinner meal. Breakfast was an extensive and beautifully presented buffet, however, we did have in our "package" breakfast off the menu as well. The eggs benedict was excellent. Although I had already my fill from the scrmptuous buffet! Great place to eat...and to stay...when travelling to other destinations in Africa.
