Jaca (in Aragonese: Chaca or Xaca) is a city of northeastern Spain in the province of Huesca, located near the Pyrenees and the border with France. Jaca is an ancient fort on the Aragón River, situated at the crossing of two great early medieval routes, one from Pau to Zaragoza. Jaca was the city out of which the County and Kingdom of Aragon developed. It was the capital of Aragon until 1097 and also the capital of Jacetania.

Quality Italia meal, from a good choice menu. Friendly staff, decent bottle of wine was recommended, what was also moderately priced. Warm Friday night, late summer evening and even though the place was buzzing, the food quality and service were up to the test. Recommended.

A rare let down by Trip Advisor. This really is a not very good restaurant. Decor is old and tired, not even quaint, and it was not the cleanest of places; not dirty, just not clean. It speaks volumes that we walked past many restaurants and bars that were full of people to eat here where we were two of ten diners in a place totally lacking in atmosphere. The menu was very interesting and we were very much looking forward to enjoying our meal but the food was bland and tasteless, I don't believe the venison had ever seen, let alone be attached to, a pair of antlers; the meat tasting of nothing discernible and what sort of red wine it was stewed in is anyone's guess. The garlic soup was plentiful but lacking in flavour, could go on but I guess the picture is now painted. My wife actually wondered whether there was a chef in the kitchen or just someone who defrosted and pinged! The wine provided with the menu was just about tolerable, the service however was efficient and friendly. Not only would I not recommend this restaurant, I would advise against even trying it; I regret that we did.

14 euros for 3 excellent dishes. Gazpacho, chicken with cheese sauce and natillas for dessert. Wine and water included. Very good and quick service. The place feels very authentic and the service was excellent! Also really liked the small appetizers offered to us!

Fundado en 1987. Cocina de mercado tratada con cariño y esmero. Especialidad en setas de temporada, caza y guisos a fuego lento.Gran carta de vinos.
From the outside the Baviera looks a little austere, just a door in a stone wall, but we were drawn into by the sign on saying (in Spanish of course!) that they had wild mushrooms! The place was almost empty, and there were various tapas offerings on the counter, but we asked about the wild mushrooms... A very friendly and helpful man did his best to explain what the possibilities were as they weren't on the menu - even bringing out a basketful to show us (luckily my husband has a little Spanish!). We tried two types of mushrooms - one with scrambled eggs, and another on toast & goats' cheese, with gratings of truffles! Both were excellent!!! 3 glasses of a special wine, plus 3 glasses of beer and the 2 mushroom dishes for 2 came to 26 euros - not bad for 'daring' adventure!! It was great fun!!

Jaca does not shine by its abundance of fine restaurants. However, light dishes or taps offerings are aplenty. Among them Casa Fau shines because of its location, just right by the cathedral which in summer time means plenty of tables outside, and by its migas. A dish that is so Spanish but, because of its simplicity and humble origins is no frequently found in regular menus. The restaurant has a good beer selection and plenty of "fritos" choices, with the ones with red peppers among the best. The service was extremely busy all day along but always cheery and the pricing was quite reasonable

........ but in this restaurant you do !!!!!! Food very well presented but very bad !!! Asparagus out from a can, a mille-feuille that was in reality a piece of bread with something on top that I still do not know what it was (it was supposed to be mushrooms....). A red wine served at 10 degree temperature..... and so on ..... The place is a nice ambiance but the kitchen has really to change dramatically !!!

Well, if there's something like a nurturing nest for gastronomy, that is this place, the staff knows very well what they offer, they care for details whilst not forgetting what really matters, a gastronomic experience. It is certainly worth a visit. This establishment focuses on the dish and the service primarily, which are the strongest foundations for a successful restaurant. They do care.

Fabulous presentation and flavour. Lovely atmosphere. Saltiness of the tomato mozzarella salad with anchovies and capers perfect. Patatas Bravas creamy and spicy. A great place to stop.

Great food, great ambiance, delicious mountain kind of food. Very impressed by the Chuleton de vaca rubia, some sort of blond cow steak. Home made desserts are to die for. We will be back...too bad is too far from Miami.
