For many years we go to this place. It is simply a must to eat the risotto and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in the garden, drinking a nice merlot.

A big plus for a vegetarian menu and quality of food. Everything we ordered was very tasty although the selected da enzo merlot was a bit disappointing. Allow 2 hours for a whole dinner otherwise you will get frustrated. I rarely comment on prices but this time I will say it "this place is damn expensive".

We took the bus from Locarno out there, after reading the reviews and having eaten already at some other grottos.Very friendly staff, did not made reservations and still got to sit where we wanted. Food was amazing so was the service. Did not had desert but a great merlot from the region and a bottle of water. We are definitely coming back

A homely family run restaurant... nothing pretentious! The service and food was great. It's a good place to go to with friends or family for a quiet dinner.

If you're looking for the perfect grotto experience, look no further: simple tavern in garden setting, granite tables and benches, homemade and tasty seasonal dishes, local Merlot served in 'boccolino'. What makes this place ultra special though is Regis and Paola's very warm hospitality. Only a short bus ride from Locarno - not to be missed.

FOOD Gastronomy is the feather in our cap. From when the new restaurant has been built in 2011, not only the guests of the Hotel, but also the local people arrive and appreciate the moderne furnish combined to the breathtaking view in front of you. Our ph
My wife and I had a terrific lunch in all regards. The service was prompt, attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The setting on the terrace with the view across Lago Maggiore and the general ambience were very nice as well. However, the excellent food is the real star. We each chose to have the three-course menu, which had been recently set for autumn. We found each of our dishes to be excellent: rabbit liver pate, hazelnut-encrusted venison, and peach tarte with caramel ice cream. Weâre currently planning when will be our next visit.Dear travelin-tommy, warm thanks for your great review. We are happy you had a terrific experience at our restaurant. Besides our daily changing 4-course menu, we have a quiet large menu card which we adapt about every 3 months, according to the season. The autumn menu card, which proposes also game, has just been set in the beginning of September and you were the first to taste it We are looking forward to seeing you soon again at the Collinetta for one more tasty lunch or dinner. Sunny regards.

Very friendly, family run, good simple local food, very fresh and tasty, excellent service. The grotto was full (it is duly small, as it should be ;-)), but service was fast, efficient, attentionate. Beautiful asparagus salad, perfectly cooked al dente, lovely fresh trout, excellent desserts (definitely worth leaving a little room for them). Obviously all home made, and everything is very fresh. We were there off season and it was full, so it would be wise to book.

Grotto la Risata is a typical swiss italian grotto, you will be able to find it in the swiss telephone directory and probably in the tourist guide. The new owners are Simon and Jacky.
Weâve been to Grotto La Risata to taste the typical dishes of the region. Couldnât be more satisfied!! The entire experience was stunning from the moment we stepped in. Perfect location, wonderful outside terrace, good ambience and cheerful owner. Average prices, surely worth it. Definitely recommended!!

Ambiente famigliare con cucina tipica Ticinese e una piccola Torrefazione all'interno. Potrete gustare diverse prelibatezze. Apertura aprile 2019
This was truly a find. Grotto Maggini is located behind the train station and is unassuming in appearance. But the food was delicious. My wife and I had risotto with wild mushrooms. This lunch was part of our walking tour in Switzerland. There were 13 in our group, and everyone raved about the food. It was warm enough to eat outside, which we would recommend. This was one of the best meals we had on our tour. Highly recommended.

Familiar yet surprising: the Hide & Seek restaurant in Ascona transforms local and seasonal cuisine into contemporary dishes with a modern flair. Sometimes simple, sometimes playful and sometimes inspired by Ayurvedic practices. Whether itâs for breakfast
I am probably being a little unfair with the above rating which should be good. However when you are presented with a menu without any pasta / risotto dishes in Tessin something is wrong.!! The menu itself is somewhat limited and the portions are somewhat on the small side. The food is good but unexciting and if we had decided to eat here again on the next evening we would have struggled to select dishes which we really wanted to eat. The desserts were nothing to write home about either.!!The service is good and the staff are friendly but the dining room needs brightening up and a rethink is also required as far as the menu is concerned. Safe but a little boring.!!
