We waren opzoek naar een ander type restaurant en hebben het gevonden dit juweeltje. Vriendelijk personeel een salade bar (voor elk hoofd gerecht) lekker voor, hoofd en nagerechten. Zeker de moeite waard.

Visiting the in laws and came for a meal with my partner while we had chance for time on our own. Simple, well cooked food with attentive waitress. All boxes ticked.

This is a small specialist Belgian / German restaurant in a suburban town called Frechen. Selected from previous T-A reviews and not disappointed. The crab croquette salad starter was truly historic. The only minor complaint is that the frites were not as Belgian asa the rest of the meal. Would certainly go back.

..when you want to have a three or four course meal. The quality of food and its preparation make up for the wait though. A small place with friendly staff and a short but expertly commissioned wine list. Enjoy..!

I stayed at much better hotels in Koln in the same price range.Location : 20 - 25 min. On foot from centrum. Public transportation nearby. Not ideal...Parking : 17 euro Per night extraRooms : small, little closet spaceMini bar, safe, tv, small deskBathroom extremely small, toilet in bathroom. Seemed more a bathroom for a one person room. Take care of your toes if somebody else opens the bathroom door.Shower : little pressure, non adjustabel shower headStaff seemed tired or uninterested... Manager just turned away when problems reported and let his staff do the work.Beds, hard matrass, only one small soft pillow, no choices.Good noise insulation for outside traffic, ok for insideAirco extremely noisyBreakfast : ok for price paid, enough choices. We arrived early, and viennoisserie was old (yesterday leftovers ?) after 30 minutes fresh arrived.Been in other hotels in cologne, all better. This is more a 3 star hotel with small fitness and sauna at 4 star prices.

I had seen the reviews for Sonder and thought we would try it. Despite the long walk from our hotel by the river we found the restaurant easily and were seated early with a friendly welcome by a young man who said he was brought up in Eastern Germany so apologised for his excellent English! He explained the menu to us and we had a couple of courses, shared a desert and had a bottle of wine, a beer and two bottles of water. The food was brilliant, the home cured mackerel, the bulgar stuffed peppers and the marinaded salmon with glass noodles were all fantastic as was a citrus creme brulee. Good value too at about 85 euros. Would highly recommend.

The venue is located in the studentâs quarter on the Zuelpicher Strasse, a main road in Cologne. Parking is possible on the road, sparse though. The restaurant is decorated with a lot of pictures of the movies of Federico Felini. The menu is simply gorgeous. We had a lot variation of the standard Italian cuisine which were a delight. I had a Carpaccio of Roast beef but warm! Yummy. As second course I had Risotto with Aspargus. Yummy too. The main course was a huge loup de mer in a salt crust which I shared with a friend. The wine was expertly selected by the boss himself and was great fit. The service was extremely warm hearted.

Mezedopolio
The venue is located in the studentâs quarter of Cologne at the corner of two major streets. The restaurant has a small inside dining room and even smaller outside dining area. The menu is medium sized. The restaurant is famous for their Mezze, the Greek version of Tapas. We had a dozen of dishes. Most of them were delicious but some of them lacked of seasoning, and I mean not that salt was missing, I don't like salt. The service was very nice and professional. Unfortunately they don't accept cash only. I was not aware of this, and had to get money from a more or less far ATM. I was very embarrassed in front of my friends.

Eckkneipe/Gaststätte gutbürgerlich, alteingesessen, rustikal Frische, hausgemachte Speisen, Kölsch, Weine und Softgetränke
We made advanced reservations for a Sunday evening and were very pleased that we chose this restaurant. It was a few minutes walk from the train, away from the tourist center of Koeln. We were promptly seated and given a menu with a variety of seasonal and classic Schnitzel dishes. I ordered the pumpkin and my partner ordered the mushroom cream sauce. We both thought they were the best Schnitzel dishes we'd ever had. We don't eat veal, but the pork was delicious and tender. The breading was light and crunchy - almost like a Southern USA cornmeal texture. It was truly heavenly. The portion was incredibly large and we wish we'd shared one - however, it was so delicious we ate a lot more than we thought we would! We definitely would recommend this place and would gladly return when again in Koeln.
