Pretty good really. Decent choice on the menu with sets menus starting at 28 Euros and rising incrementally thereafter. Well cooked food, good ingredients, imaginative in places and good value for money. Service pretty good except for the world's most sullen waitress. The duck my wife had was streets ahead in terms of quality and presentation than that she had at St Mathieu. There's not much choice locally in terms of restaurants (a surprise really) so this place really shone.

We were enjoying a fab holiday care of Brittany Ferries in a nearby holiday cottage. We had already decided to visit this establishment based on reviews and the recommendation of the owner of our holiday cottage. Yes you have to book (needed a weeks notice for lunch and no availability in the evening!) but by golly it was worth it. This place is beautifully located overlooking a fabulous beach. It serves up a lovely and genuine French experience and superb food with service to match. An outstanding offering and very reasonable prices. We had 3 courses with wine and drinks at c â¬140. Fantastic value. We were at the restaurant for 2 and a half hours and it was pure pleasure.

Bit disappointed to tell you the truth. You can usually reply on French restaurants but the food here was mediocre. Fish soup was ok, but nothing more and croutons were way too crisp to eat without a good soak in the soup, and too few. Steak to follow was too fatty, not enough meat with it and I'm not a fan of the fashion of each bit of your dinner coming in it's own bowl. Fatty steak on plate, bit of average salad leaves in a bowl and oven chips in a mini chip fryer basket, and poor pepper sauce in a glass. Pudding was shop crepe with sugar and missing the butter I'd asked for so too dry to eat. All rather average and disappointing. Friends felt the same about their dinners. Waitress was a smoker who was smoking between courses so the smell was rather strong.

We had high hopes for this creperie and were disappointed by the manager. She was very rude to us for being early for our reservation by 20 minutes (while being nice to walk in customers) almost refusing to seat us when we showed upeven though the table was ready! She made us feel so unwelcome from the start it ruined the food entirely. Worse yet- She actually hid the candy dish from our kids even though they had all only had one piece. The waiter was great and nice. It was just her. She ruined the lunch for everyone. We wont come back.

We stoped just to have a beer and we finish by having some crepes too, that are very good and not expencive. i recomend it

The menus were quite good value, and it was nice to have pre dinner nibbles. My starter (mackerel and cauliflower)was great. The main was ok, but I was not keen on the creamy sauce. The desserts were well presented and delicious, and it was a nice touch to have petit fours, but there were far too many. The service was fine, but a bit formal and cold. The other thing we disliked was the music, it was not really appropriate for the type of restaurant.

We visited for an early-evening meal with our little boy and had a fantastic experience all-round.Worth noting- the opening hours published on TripAdvisor, Google etc. are not necessarily accurate- their opening hours are generally longer than advertised, but I understand there's a certain fluidity depending on how busy they are.The service was fantastic, really friendly, and very accommodating for children, despite having quite a grown-up feel to the restaurant overall.Menu for "main" meals isn't overwhelmingly extensive, and you can tell that this is a good thing as the handful of house and regional specialities are brilliantly well executed.Slight caution- some of the dishes have names that are more Breton than French, which can make translations more of a challenge. The brilliant staff are more than happy to explain though!

I have been 3 times to la Bute for dinner in the last 9 months, both as a couple and a larger family group. The food is technically excellent with imaginative re-interpetations of traditional breton recipes and local products. However do not expect good service if you are not seen as local. In fact although I have a common English surname I have had a home in the area for many years. On each occasion I booked in advance (as much as 2 weeks) and requested a window table for the special occasion - birthdays and wedding anniversary respectively - only to shown to a back corner table near the service area. When I complained on the second occasion we were shown to a table with a view of the bay, one of the restaurants selling points. But it puts a dampener on an evening if one has to complain at the outset. There were plenty of tables both for couples and families available in the window area on each occasion. As noted by others the staff are inexperienced and make too many basic mistakes - a big play on serving very good speciality butters, but then omitting to serve any bread; forgetting to allow the red wine to breath and to serve it on time with the main course. The practice of paying the bill at reception at the end of the meal should be discontinued. The host does not want all their guests to know how much the meal has cost.Having spent the best part of 1,000 euros in this establishment I will not be returning any time soon.

Ate hear twice on recent visit. French Food done really simply & well. Nothing too pretentious, just excellent cooking and efficient service. Simple restaurant, nothing too fancy. Was busy on both occasions we were there. We tried a few places around the immediate area and this was the best! Excellent value also.
